The eye opening is non-parallel with the eyepiece hole, and has a concave profile with respect to at least one viewing axis (34) between the holes. The shell comprises a flexible and resilient, laminate material with different inner and outer layers sandwiching an intermediate foam layer. In addition, the shield comprises a fastener (114) with first and second fastener portions (118, 120) carried on opposite sides of the shell at the eye opening to closed the shield with the opposite sides of the eye opening folded in towards one another, and the fastener is fastened with the first and second fastener portions joined together.

An area of the interior surface of the flexible fabric shell can minimize or eliminate scratching of the objected lens of the scope. A method of minimizing abrasion to a scratch-sensitive surface of the scope is also described.

In one aspect, the cloth accessory may include a cover member forming an enclosure with a cavity therein, and a cloth attached to the cover member. The cloth may have a first configuration wherein the cloth is retracted substantially into the cover member, and a second configuration wherein the cloth is extended substantially out of the cover member without becoming detached there from.

The cam cover and sling device can further include a central tensioning member coupled to the two cam covers and operable to extend between the cams, wherein the central tensioning member is configured to increase tension in the limb tensioning members to secure the cam covers about the cams. The strap can be coupled to the first top corner, the second top corner, the first bottom corner, and the second bottom corner. The strap can be operable to engage around ears of the user and around a neck of the user.
