  • Publication number: 20080019043
Abstract: A perpendicular magnetic recording head according to the present invention is composed of a first magnetic layer having a main magnetic pole exposed at a facing surface opposite a recording medium, a second magnetic layer adjacent to the first magnetic layer with an intermediary non-magnetic layer disposed therebetween, and a coil layer for applying a recording magnetic field to the first magnetic layer. Since the second magnetic layer has a shape including a substantially arched portion in its cross section along a height direction, it becomes possible to keep an Edge Write magnetic field in a low level and improve external magnetic field resistance.

Abstract: A perpendicular magnetic recording head includes a first magnetic layer having a main magnetic pole exposed at a medium-facing surface that faces a recording medium; a second magnetic layer that faces the first magnetic layer with a nonmagnetic layer interposed therebetween; and a coil layer for applying a recording magnetic field to the first magnetic layer. The second magnetic layer includes a relatively thick edge portion, whereby the edge-write magnetic field is reduced and the external magnetic field resistance is increased.

  • Patent number: 5936839
Abstract: The heat radiating structure of an electronic device according to the present invention comprises upper and lower shielding cases, a printed circuit board disposed between the upper and lower shielding cases, and a heat radiating member mounted to the board to absorb and radiate heat which is generated from a heat generating component. Heat conduction members formed of an insulating material are disposed respectively on upper and lower end sides of the heat radiating member so as to be abutted against the upper and lower shielding cases.

  • Patent number: 4359643
Abstract: In an auxiliary apparatus for starting a diesel engine having a quick preheating circuit operable by the switching of a key-switch from its OFF to ON position and an afterglow circuit operated by the return of the key-switch from the ST position to ON position, there is provided a heat maintenance preheating circuit to maintain the temperature of the glow plugs for a predetermined time after the quick preheating operation is finished. The heat maintenance preheating circuit for maintaining the temperature begins its operation just after the immediate heating operation by the quick preheating circuit is finished, and continues its operation for a predetermined period while the key-switch is at its ON position. As a result, even when the engine is not started to operate immediately after the initial preheating, the temperature of the glow plugs is kept at the predetermined temperature, thus assuring smooth starting of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4357592
Abstract: A variable resistor and switch assembly in which a variable resistor and a switch are constructed as a unit. The assembly has an insulating substrate, a resistor, a collector and stationary contacts which are formed on the substrate, and a carrier made of an electrically insulating material. The carrier includes a slider for making sliding contact with the resistor and the collector, a pair of contactors made of a resilient metallic material and making sliding contact with respective one of the pair of stationary contacts, and an operation member made of an electrically insulating material and adapted for breaking the conduction between the pair of contactors. As the operation member is actuated at any desired position of the slider, the conduction between the pair of contactors is broken to make the switch take the off state irrespective of the resistance value of the variable resistor.

  • Patent number: 4353106
Abstract: A trimmer capacitor includes an insulating substrate having recesses to accommodate a dielectric member having the stator electrode printed thereon. A terminal is soldered to the stator electrode and fits within a recess of the insulating plate. A rotor electrode is provided over the dielectric member. The dielectric member does not itself need to be rotated and is adequately supported and thus can be made quite thin even if brittle dielectric material such as titanium dioxide or barium tatinate is used.

  • Patent number: 4352203
Abstract: A station selecting device which comprises: a plurality of variable resistors, grouped into several reception bands, the variable resistors in each group being connected in parallel; band selection switches for selectively supplying power to the variable resistors of the desired band; and channel selection switches for picking up the tuning voltage across the selected variable resistor, said each channel selection switch being connected to one of variable resistors of each band. Since each channel selection switch is connected to the variable resistor of each band, the number of the channel selection switches required are very few as compared with the conventional device, which in turn reduces the size of the device and makes the construction simple.
