Abstract: A unique nozzle [20] for a fluidized bed reactor is described that may be replaced efficiently. This employs a collar [30, 130, 230] attached to a vertical section [15] of a feed pipe [11] that provides fluidizing gases. The vertical section [15] has a plurality of nozzle openings [17] at its upper end. A nozzle cap [19] fits over the upper end of the vertical section [15] and the nozzle openings [17]. The collar [30, 130, 230] extends radially outward from the vertical section [15] at a location just below the nozzle cap [19] supporting it in its operational position. During replacement of the vertical section [15] and the nozzle cap [19], the collar acts as a guide to direct cutting equipment to the proper location and facilitate proper cuts. The collar [30, 130, 230] also acts as a support to hold the vertical section [15] and the nozzle cap [19] in proper position to facilitate welding.

Abstract: A combined-cycle power plant (10) has at least one power train (60) including a steam turbine (24) and a second generator (8) directly driven by the steam turbine (24) and generating alternating current, the output of which generator is connected to a power grid (21) having a given grid frequency (F), and at least one power train (11) of a gas turbine (12) and a first generator (18) driven directly by the gas turbine (12) and generating alternating current with an operating frequency, the output of which generator is connected to a power grid (21) having a predetermined grid frequency. An electronic decoupling device or a variable electronic gear unit (27) decouples the operating frequency from the grid frequency and is arranged between the first generator (18) and the power grid (21). Such a plant allows both flexible steady-state operation with high overall efficiency as well as flexible transient operation.
Abstract: A cooling device including an evaporator operating with a phase-change heat-transfer fluid surrounding electrical switchgear operating at high voltage and connected to one or more condensers placed on a roof of a sheath in which the electrical switchgear is placed. The condensers are supported in this location by insulating elements that include side partitions that are to the side relative to a box, placed above the sheath and/or a central portion of the roof of the sheath. The cooling device consumes very little energy and does not require an electrically insulated cooling system to be designed and can be used, for example, for application to medium-voltage generator circuit breakers.

Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for switching an inductive load. Yet further the invention relates to a software product of a control system switching an inductive load. A semiconductor valve is used for switching an inductive load. The semiconductor valve comprises at least two semiconductor levels. A firing signal is supplied to the semiconductor valve. There is a determined delay between the firing signals of at least two semiconductor levels.
Abstract: A method for drilling or cutting a pin surrounded by solid material includes the use of a water jet tool having a nozzle that is arranged at an angle with respect to a main body of the water jet tool. The water jet is directed over a portion of the surface of the pin, and removes that portion thereby fragmenting the pin. In order to minimize damage to the surrounding material, the portions removed touches the interface between the pin and the surrounding solid material at a minimal number of points and over a minimal extent of the interface. The method is applicable in particular to the removal of pins used in a press-fit for the securing of blades on a turbine rotor. The method facilitates “in situ” removal of pins within a confined space in a short time and at reduced cost.

The second guide vane element can be attached, via a second flange provided on a second platform on the second guide vane element. The connection of the platforms forms a cover band, or a connection between the guide vane elements that is tight, flush, and stress-free at different temperatures.
