  • Patent number: 8705186
Abstract: The patent discloses a lens barrel driving system and a backlash correction method thereof. In such system, a zoom photo-interrupter (PI) is used to detect the movement of a zooming barrel and generate a first count value. The movement of a focusing barrel corresponds to the movement of the zooming barrel, so that when the zooming barrel is driven to move from an initial position to a first zooming position or from the first zoom position to a second zoom position, the focusing barrel moves correspondingly and its movement triggers a home PI to generate a second count value. Upon the generation of the second count value, a predetermined value is used to replace the first count value so as to correct the error caused by backlash of lens barrels.

  • Patent number: 8693783
Abstract: A processing method for image interpolation is provided. In the method, a contour containing a destination pixel and a plurality of contour pixels is produced and detected by using an edge detection method for a selected area in an original image. Next, two extreme points are identified from the contour pixels by judging the changing trend of brightness value of the contour pixels on the contour. Then using the changing trend and two extreme points determines whether the destination pixel is located at a transition area or a non-transition area. If the destination pixel is located at the non-transition area, an interpolation adjust value is calculated according to the brightness values of the two extreme points and the brightness value of the destination pixel. An interpolation result of the destination pixel is obtained by performing the interpolation on the selected area according to the interpolation adjust value.

  • Patent number: 8643747
Abstract: An image capturing apparatus and an image correction method thereof are provided. The image capturing apparatus comprises an image capturing module, a sensing module, a storage module, and a processing module. The image capturing module captures an image. The sensing module senses an included angle between the image capturing apparatus and a horizontal plane. The storage module stores a rotation compensation data table containing a plurality of offset angles and a plurality of rotation compensation values for pixels corresponding to each offset angle. According to a difference value between the angle and a preset angle, the processing module finds out the appropriate rotation compensation values in the rotation compensation data table for rotating and correcting the image. • Patent number: 8644696
Abstract: The present invention discloses an image capturing device and an automatic backlash correction method, comprising: a group of zoom lenses, a storage module and a processing module. The processing module drives the group of zoom lenses moving to a datum point to get the moving step value. The current backlash value is then calculated according to the moving step value and the predetermined step value. Then, the difference value between the current backlash value and the predetermined step value are stored in the storage module. The processing module determines whether the difference value is within an allowable error range. When the difference value is within the allowable error range, the processing module writes the current backlash value into the storage module to replace the backlash compensation value. Therefore, the backlash compensation value of the image capturing device can be corrected automatically to enhance image quality.
