Patent number: 10943378Abstract: A method for generating a panoramic image is disclosed. The method comprises simultaneously capturing images from multiple camera sensors aligned horizontally along an arc and having an overlapping field of view; performing a cylindrical projection to project the captured images from the multiple camera sensors to a cylindrical images; and aligning overlapping regions of the cylindrical images corresponding to the overlapping field of view based on an absolute difference of luminance, wherein the cylindrical projection is performed by adjusting a radius for the cylindrical projection, wherein the radius is adjusted based on a scale factor and wherein the scale factor is calculated based on a rigid transform and wherein the scale factor is iteratively calculated for two sensors from the multiple camera sensors.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2019Date of Patent: March 9, 2021Assignee: Altia Systems Inc.Inventor: Shane Ching-Feng Hu

Patent number: 10880519Abstract: A panoramic video conferencing server is disclosed. The server is operational to capture an audio stream via an array of microphones. The captured audio stream is de-multiplexed to extract audio for a plurality of audio zones. A region of interest (ROI) is determined for a plurality of client devices to which a panoramic video is being streamed. The ROI is determined based on a zoom information which is inputted by any one of the client devices. A modified audio channel associated with the panoramic video being streamed to at least one of the client devices is generated for each of the client devices. The modified audio channel is adjusted to coincide with directionality of an audio corresponding to the associated region of interest (ROI) inputted by the at least one of said client device and the modified audio channel is adjusted to mute audio corresponding to the audio zones other than the audio zone associated with the ROI.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2019Date of Patent: December 29, 2020Assignee: Altia Systems Inc.Inventors: Ram Natarajan, Aurangzeb Khan, Naveed Alam, Yashket Gupta, Lars Herlitz

Patent number: 9232155Abstract: A computer-implemented method for a multiple imager imaging system is disclosed. The method comprises detecting misalignment between a left portion of an object in a left image and a right portion of said object in a right image; wherein said misalignment is detected using factory alignment parameters to align said left and right portions; and selectively performing a recalibration operation to determine optimal alignment parameters to align said left and right portions during an image stitching operation; dynamically overriding the factory alignment parameters with the optimal alignment parameters; and performing the stitching operation based on the optimal alignment parameters.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2013Date of Patent: January 5, 2016Assignee: ALTIA SYSTEMS INC.Inventor: Jason Daniel Tanner

Patent number: 8253815Abstract: A synchronized multiple imager system includes a plurality of imagers having pixels arranged in rows and columns. The pixels generate pixel data responsive to light directed onto the imagers. One or more respective sensors are coupled to the imagers. The sensors sense the pixel data from the columns and output a vertical raster stream representative of the pixel data in the columns, thereby generating a plurality of vertical raster streams. A clock circuit synchronizes the sensors to sense selected columns in the imagers and to output the vertical raster streams from the selected columns. A processor circuit is configured to receive the vertical raster streams from the imagers and to process the vertical raster streams to generate a plurality of stitched raster streams. The processor circuit stitches seam vertical raster streams from adjacent pairs of imagers.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2009Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: Altia Systems Inc.Inventors: Atif Sarwari, Naveed Alam, Khurshed Mazhar
