Abstract: A surgical implant device that controls the relative movement between a first bone or tissue portion and a second bone or tissue portion. The device has a first connector member connected for movement with the first bone or tissue portion and a second connector member connected for movement with the second bone or tissue portion. A biasing member pivotally connects the first connector member to the second connector member and resists the relative rotation between the first connector member and the second connector member.
Abstract: A surgical implant device for controlling the movement between a first bone or tissue portion and a second bone or tissue portion includes a first elongated member connectable for movement with the first bone or tissue portion and a second elongated member connectable for movement with the first bone or tissue portion. The first elongated member and the second elongated member are connected by a flexible joint configured to allow the first elongated member to pivot, move axially, and/or rotate relative to the second elongated member. At least one resilient member is associated with the flexible joint to resist relative movement of the first elongated member relative to the second elongated member.
Abstract: A polyaxial bone fixation system minimizes the number of parts used to engage a bone bolt in various angular orientations relative to an elongated plate or rods, and also permits for nearly infinite positioning of two or more bone bolts relative to each other along the length of an elongated plate or rods.
Abstract: A dental implant having an external thread configuration and/or a structure which facilitates a single step dental implant/prosthesis installation or which significantly reduces healing time between surgeries. The invention also relates to a method for installing such a dental implant.
