Publication number: 20210370350Abstract: A device and method for separating solid material with thorough gentle precision processing in order to maintain the integrity of the desired portion of the solid material, employs a separating apparatus including two or more vertically spaced barrels, each of which rotates within a respective saddle. After solid material is introduced into one of the barrels, the barrel is rotated, and the solid material is rotationally tumbled and axially propagated through the barrel. As the solid material moves through the barrel, portions of the solid material are separated therefrom by various means including collision, vibration, grating or cutting.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2020Publication date: December 2, 2021Applicant: Alto Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Summer ORMAN, Joshua ORMAN, Robert WINIECKI

Publication number: 20010023377Abstract: An automated transport system for use in a material handling system. The automated transport system employs a distributed control system including a top level controller (transport controller), a plurality of second-level controllers (control logic computers) and a plurality of third-level controllers (intelligent drivers). The transport controller (TC) receives material commands from a conventional material control system (MCS). The TC breaks the command into sub-commands directing selected control logic computers (CLCs) to acquire, move to a destination or otherwise interact with a particular container designated by the MCS command. The transport controller selects the CLCs based on the transport system topology, the content of the MCS command and knowledge of which regions of the transport system are controlled by respective CLCs. Each CLC implements the sub-commands by issuing to the intelligent drivers low level control commands to accelerate, elevate, rotate, load or unload the container.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2001Publication date: September 20, 2001Applicant: Palo Alto Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Brian Wehrung, Clifford Holden

Patent number: 6188332Abstract: An apparatus for magnetically transferring control information from a rotary knob with a knob mounted in a manner which facilitates rotation, a magnetic material about the circumference of the knob with alternating field lines perpendicular to the direction of knob rotation, a magnetic detector, an electronic circuit for decoding the detected magnetic variations corresponding to knob rotation, and a frame upon which the knob and magnetic sensor are mounted. In a preferred embodiment, the knob is designed in such a manner as to provide an environmental seal between the front and rear side of the frame to which it is mounted.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1999Date of Patent: February 13, 2001Assignee: Alto Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Stephen J. Patent number: 4888607Abstract: A method and apparatus for developing photographic film and paper. A plurality of storage tanks flow by gravity into a common manifold. The manifold directs the fluid flow to a rotating drum assembly. After mixing, the fluid flows into a catch basin and, further, into one of a plurality of drain tanks. Electronic control circuitry is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1988Date of Patent: December 19, 1989Assignee: Alto TechnologyInventors: William A. Stutz, Laszlo A. Kiss, Joseph D.
