Patents Assigned to AlumaPower Corporation
  • Patent number: 11936074
Abstract: A metal air battery electrolyte replenishment system comprised of a base station with docking receptor apparatus and matching docking probe on a flying drone. The probe onboard the drone has a sensor that guides the drone to connect with the electrolyte docking receptor on the base station. The drone uses the probe to obtain fresh electrolyte and simultaneously expel spent electrolyte into the base station while still in flight or during a brief landing. Rapid exchange of the electrolyte allows for extended range and flight time without penalty of onboard electrolyte reconditioning system and its associated weight.

  • Patent number: 11916216
Abstract: A metal air battery system comprised of anode/cathode assembly with air gun plenums mounted on both sides of the anode. The anode is mounted in a battery cell chamber that holds the anode parallel with the cathode. The anode is able to move in and out of the battery cell chamber while the air gun plenums emit high pressure air for the purpose of wiping clean liquid electrolyte from the surface of each anode to provide for rapid shutdown of chemical reactions that produce hydrogen gas and electric current.

  • Patent number: 10978758
Abstract: A metal air battery system having a rotating anode/cathode assembly. The assembly is mounted in a housing system that provides a mechanism for loading of fresh metal anodes for the purpose of mechanical recharge of the battery. The anode and cathode are able to rotate at high speed for the purposes of producing local high centrifugal (g) forces on their respective surfaces for the purpose of wiping clean liquid electrolyte from their surface to provide for almost instantaneous shutdown of chemical reactions producing hydrogen gas and electric current. The anode and cathode are also rotated at slower speeds for the purpose of providing an even corrosion of the metal anode surface and the cathode rides on the liquid electrolyte using a dynamic and or static liquid bearing design. This liquid bearing provides a constant distance and therefore electrical resistance in the battery.
