Abstract: The use of a fiber-reinforced plastic material as reinforcement strips (2, 6, 7, 14, 15) of a window or door frame hollow profile (1, 10) is provided, with the fiber-reinforced plastic material having an E-module that is >8.000 N/mm2, and preferably >10.000 N/mm2, having a softening temperature of >100° C., and preferably >150° C. and an elongation coefficient of <6·10?5K?1, and preferably <5·10?5K?1 most preferably <4·10?5K?1, in particular fiber-reinforced polybutylenterephtalate, polyetylenterephtalate or a mixture thereof.

Abstract: A method for producing a frame as a window or door frame that is made from hollow-profile elements and that has a chamber that contains an insulating foam core, wherein the frame is assembled from several hollow-profile elements. In order to insulate such a frame in an economical way, the insulating foam core is generated first after joining the frame through filling the chambers that are provided in the hollow-profile elements and that communicate with each other with foam.
