Abstract: Methods and systems can be provided for providing items manufactured on demand to users. A user request for an item can be received. The item can have 3D manufacturing instructions associated therewith. A delivery method for the item can be determined. A manufacturing apparatus can be selected to manufacture the item based on the 3D manufacturing instructions. Instructions can be sent to the manufacturing apparatus to manufacture the item based on the 3D manufacturing instructions. Delivery instructions can be provided for delivering the item according to the delivery method.

Abstract: Methods and systems for implementing a network-backed file system are disclosed. Data indicative of a plurality of subscriptions by a plurality of clients to respective subsections of a file system is stored. The subscriptions comprise one or more read subscriptions and one or more write subscriptions. The read subscriptions are fulfilled by sending modified file chunks of subsections to subscribing clients. The write subscriptions are fulfilled by modifying file chunks of subsections based on write requests submitted by subscribing clients.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for automatically selecting a content provider for delivery of content for consumption by a user. Various selection data such as cost, historical delivery bitrate, and so forth are gathered and a weighting profile is applied to generate a total weight by content provider. The total weight by content provider may be used to select one content provider from another for delivery of a particular piece of content.

Abstract: The present disclosure involves the receipt of inventory items in a materials handling facility. In one embodiment, a listing of inventory items associated with an inventory is maintained in a memory accessible to a computing device. An attempt is made to identify a match between a first image of a receivable item and a second image of one of the inventory items. If a match is successfully identified, an identifier associated with the one of the inventory items is rendered, where the identifier is to be associated with the receivable item.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to, among other things, managing inventory indexing of one or more data storage devices. In some examples, a storage service may store an index associated with archived data. Additionally, the storage service may receive information associated with an operation performed on the archived data. The storage service may also partition the received information into subsets corresponding to an identifier. In some cases, the identifier may be received with or otherwise be part of the received information. The storage service may also retrieve at least a portion of the index that corresponds to the subset. Further, the storage service may update the retrieved portion of the index with at least part of the received information. The updating may be based at least in part on the subsets.

Abstract: Off-feed matching circuits for antenna structures of user devices and methods of operating the user devices with the off-feed matching circuits are described. Off-feed matching circuits are matching circuits that are positioned on the radiating elements and not on the feed line. One apparatus includes a RF feed coupled to an excitation antenna element of an antenna structure. The antenna structure also includes two radiating antenna elements and two matching circuits, one for each of the radiating antenna elements. The two radiating antenna elements may be conductively coupled to the excitation antenna element or parasitically coupled to the excitation element.

Abstract: Secure networking processes, such as packet encapsulation and decapsulation, can be executed upstream of a user or guest operating system provisioned on a host machine, where the user has substantially full access to that machine. The processing can be performed on a device such as a network interface card (NIC), which can have a separate network port for communicating with mapping systems or other devices across a cloud or secure network. A virtual image of the NIC can be provided to the user such that the user can still utilize at least some of the NIC functionality. In some embodiments, the NIC can work with a standalone processor or control host in order to offload much of the processing to the control host. The NIC can further handle headers and payload separately where possible, in order to improve the efficiency of processing the various packets.

Abstract: In various embodiments, approaches for identifying missing search phrases are described. Search terms are behaviorally associated with an item in the electronic repository. If a search of the electronic repository fails to surface the item, the at least one search term can be identified as a missing search phrase for the item.

Abstract: A low distraction interface can be provided for an electronic device by monitoring information such as a gaze direction of a user. A device can be configured to only display information to a user when the user is looking substantially toward the device, and can be configured to present that information in a way that is of minimal distraction to others nearby. The user can control aspects of the display by looking away from the device, continuing to look at the device for a period of time, or otherwise providing input without physically interacting with the device. Such an approach can be beneficial for settings such as business meetings where a user might want to obtain information from the device but does not want to appear inconsiderate by picking up and checking information on the device.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a system and method for managing reassignment of units among shipments in a materials handling facility are described. Embodiments may include a system configured to identify a first unit of a particular item that has been picked from inventory of a materials handling facility and assigned to a first shipment. The system may also, from multiple candidate shipments, identify a second shipment that requires a given unit of the particular item in order to become a complete shipment. For each candidate shipment, at least one unit of that shipment may be stored within a defined storage area of a materials handling facility. The system may, in response to identifying both shipments, generate an instruction to reassign the first unit of the particular item from the first shipment to the second shipment in order to transform the second shipment from an incomplete shipment to a complete shipment.

Abstract: Described herein are techniques for rendering additional keys on a display of an electronic device based on one or more characteristics of a user's selection of another key. After rendering the additional keys, the user may thereafter select one of the additional keys now available and rendered on the display.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for performing an analysis on images of a product packaging. Capture of at least one image of at least one side of a packaging in initiated. An image analysis is performed on the at least one image. Product attributes are detected based at least upon the at least one image analysis and associated with the product in a data store.

Abstract: A user of a personal computing device may identify an item of interest displayed in a user interface provided by a network-based service and would like to obtain more information. The user may submit an electronic contact requests to an agent continuity service in communication with one or more service agents in order to obtain more information. The agent continuity service may determine whether the user has communicated with an agent previously and, if so, provide the user with the option to communicate with the agent again, should the user desire.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for loading page generation code supplied by customers into a memory. A request for a network page is obtained from a client. The network page is associated with a network site hosted by a hosting provider on behalf of a customer. It is determined whether page generation code configured to generate at least a portion of the network page is preloaded into a memory. Such page generation code is customer supplied. The page generation code is loaded into the memory in response to the request and in response to determining that the page generation code is not preloaded into the memory. The page generation code is executed to generate the at least a portion of the network page in response to the request.

Abstract: The behavior of a group of resources, such as a fleet of servers, can be monitored to attempt to determine a baseline of acceptable behaviors. When a behavior is observed, the baseline can be consulted to determine whether the behavior is indicated to be acceptable. If not, the rate or extent at which the newly observed behavior is observed on groupings of similar resources can be monitored. This information can be used to determine whether the behavior is acceptable in which case information for the observed behavior can be used to automatically update the baseline such that the baseline is representative of current acceptable behavior within the group of resources.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for dynamic bandwidth management using routing signals in a network implementing direct peerings. A system includes a resource collection, an endpoint device connected to a private link of a network path to a client network, and a bandwidth manager. The bandwidth manager receives configuration settings of the client, comprising a baseline transmission rate of traffic. The bandwidth manager determines whether a difference between a measured transmission rate of traffic over one or more network paths linking the resource collection and the client network, and a peak transmission capacity of the one or more network paths, exceeds a threshold value. In response to a determination that the difference exceeds the threshold value, the bandwidth manager initiates a transmission of a routing signal to the client network indicative of an available transmission rate that differs from the baseline transmission rate.

Abstract: A computer system implements a hypervisor which, in turn, implements one or more computer system instances and a controller. The controller and a computer system instance share a memory. A request is processed using facilities of both the computer system instance and the controller. As part of request processing, information is passed between the computer system instance and the controller via the shared memory.

Abstract: As requests are received, virtual computer systems are provisioned to process the requests. The virtual computer systems may be configured without various components typically implemented by virtual computer systems, such as traditional operating systems, network interfaces and the like. Application images for the virtual computer systems are configured so that execution of the applications can begin soon after provisioning, with minimal overhead the provisioning process contributing relatively little to any latency in processing the request.
