Patent number: 4366760Abstract: A seed drill having single-disk furrow openers 6 set at an acute angle .alpha. to the direction of travel. The total number of furrow-opener disks is divisible by four, and one half of the furrow-opener disks in each transverse row are set at the acute angle (.alpha.) relative to the direction of travel which is directed to one side, and the half are set at an angle .alpha. which is directed to the other side.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 1980Date of Patent: January 4, 1983Assignee: Amazonen-WerkeInventor: Heinz Dreyer

Patent number: 4351481Abstract: A centrifugal spreader (FIG. 1) for spreading granulated fertilizers has a funnel-shaped hopper, a discharge outlet in the lower portion of the hopper, and adjustor means for adjusting the size of and shutting off the outlet. A drivable agitator is disposed in the hopper, and spreading means 11 is disposed beneath the hopper for receiving fertilizer issuing from the outlet and spreading the fertilizer. The spreader 11 is releasably mounted on a drive shaft 16 and is exchangeable for a different spreading means. The spreader can be set in a position in which the distance (A) between the highest point of the spreader and the part of the hopper situated above said highest point as seen longitudinally of the drive shaft, is greater than the distance (B) between the lower edge of the fastening means 14 which releasably secures the spreader on the drive shaft, and the upper end of the drive shaft. Thereby removal of the spreader is facilitated.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 1979Date of Patent: September 28, 1982Assignee: Amazonen-WerkeInventor: Heinz Dreyer

Patent number: 4275670Abstract: Seed drill (FIG. 1) having furrow openers 10 and accompanying press wheels 12 pivotally arranged on frame 1 by mounting means 3. A spring 18 is interposed between the frame and the furrow openers - press wheels. The bias of the spring can be adjusted by operation of the hydraulic cylinder 20, which can also be used to shift the furrow openers - press wheels between working position and the transport position. An adjusting means 14 is interposed between the frame and the furrow openers - press wheels. By operation of the adjusting means the level of a furrow openers relative to the level of the press wheels can be adjusted. The furrow openers - press wheels are arranged in transverse rows and the furrow openers - press wheels of each transverse row are ganged by shafts 22 so that only one of the mounting means in each transverse row need be outfitted with the spring 18 and hydraulic cylinder 20, and the adjusting means 14.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1979Date of Patent: June 30, 1981Assignee: Amazonen-WerkeInventor: Heinz Dreyer

Patent number: 4208974Abstract: A seed drill (FIG. 1 ) having a frame (1 ) with knife hoes (7 ) mounted thereon. The knife hoes are movable in a vertical plane and each has two laterally projecting wings (8 ) bent downwardly toward one another; the outer edges of the wings merge forwardly together to form a point. Each knife hoe has an upright strut (13 ) supporting the leading point of the knife. Further, each knife hoe is disposed on a shank (9 ) which is mounted on the frame with parallel guide means (10 ). The parallel guide means has at least one articulation (19 ) acting in a vertical plane, a stop (21 ) limiting forward swinging movement of the knife hoe about the articulation, and at least one resilient element (22 ) exerting a force on the knife hoe in the direction of the stop. The drill further includes a gauge wheel (16 ) for each knife hoe to limit the depth of penetration of the knife hoe into the soil.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1977Date of Patent: June 24, 1980Assignee: Amazonen-WerkeInventors: Heinz Dreyer, Benno Wiemeyer

Patent number: 4202474Abstract: A machine for spreading fertilizer and seed in which the width of the machine with respect to its working direction of travel is greater than its length with respect to the working direction of travel. The machine comprises at least two individual machine units having lateral and transverse sides which units are assembled together in a lateral relationship to each other by means of laterally located hitch elements on each unit. Each unit has a chassis borne at three support points by swivel wheels and is provided with additional hitch elements on the transverse side towards the working direction. On each unit at least one swivel wheel is lockable in both a working direction of travel and in a transport direction of travel which directions are at right angles to each other.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1976Date of Patent: May 13, 1980Assignee: Amazonen-WerkeInventor: Heinz Dreyer
