Abstract: The present invention is related to a vertical/horizontal form, fill and seal packaging comprising a plastic film, a longitudinal seam (2) and a cross-directional seam (5), characterised in that the longitudinal seam (2) comprises a continuous teeth structure of adjacent notches (1) with no remaining horizontal cutting lines, representing tear initiations over the whole length of the longitudinal seam (2) said packaging being obtained by a machine reel (4) of said plastic film comprising on both lateral edges said continuous teeth structure (1) in order to avoid additional scrap in the VFFS/HFFS packaging process. The present invention is also related to a process of making such a packaging, said process starting out from a reel comprising a continuous teeth structure on its lateral edges.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a continuos process for the partial demetallization of a first multilayer substrate, comprising at least one metallic layer 21, characterized in that a designed lacquer comprising at least one metal dissolving etchant 25 locally reacts with said metallic layer 21 and that the dissolved metal remains within said multilayer structure and that the dissolution of the metal allows the creation of a window in said metallic layer without the necessity of a washing step and in that said partial demetallization is suitable to be carried out on standard gravure or flexo printing presses or coating equipment.

Abstract: A box-shaped package of a flexible and sealable, especially heat-sealable, packaging material including a front wall (1) and a back wall (2) arranged opposite each another and sealed together along opposed side edges thereof by means transverse side seams (5, 6). The package further includes two opposed and inwardly folded end walls (3, 4), a first end wall (3) being sealed to the front and the back walls (1, 2) along first longitudinal end seams (9,10) and along first end side seams (11, 12) and a second end wall (4) being sealed to the front and the back walls (1, 2) along second longitudinal end seams (15, 16) and along second end side seams (17, 18). At least one of the side seams is peelable, and at least portions of the front and the back walls (1, 2) extend beyond the transverse peelable side seam (5) to form a front wall gripping member (19) and a back wall gripping member (20).

Abstract: A stand-up bag of a heat-sealable plastic film comprising two opposing side walls (1, 2) sealed together along the lateral edges thereof by means of side seams (5, 6), an inwardly folded bottom wall (4) provided between the lower portions of the side walls (1, 2) and sealed to the respective side walls (1, 2) along transverse bottom seams (7) and along bottom side seams, and an inwardly folded top wall (3) extending between the side walls and connected to the respective side walls (1, 2) along transverse top connections (11, 12) and sealed to the respective side walls (1, 2) along top side seams. One of the side walls (1) comprises a first side wall section (1a) and a second side wall section (1b) which overlaps the first side wall section (1a) in an overlapping area (15). In the overlapping area (15) the two side wall sections (1a, 1b) are connected by means of longitudinal peelable connections (19, 20) along the side seams (5, 6) and by means of a transverse peelable connection (18).
