  • Publication number: 20200034770
Abstract: A system for converting a work procedure document into a mobile application and mobile applications for executing work procedures are disclosed. The conversion system converts work procedure data in the document into a converted format. In some cases, the converted formatted is consumable by a mobile application. The conversion system can be programmed to identify steps and sub-steps in the work procedure based on business-specific formatting characteristics common to work procedure documents. The mobile application can be configured to generate a controlled workflow for a work procedure on a mobile device. The workflow can prompt a user to provide inputs to the mobile device indicating performance of steps in the work procedure.

  • Patent number: 8851789
Abstract: A closure is adapted to limit damage from a gas explosion in an underground space. The closure includes a telescoping sleeve having a plurality of vents extending radially through the sleeve. The sleeve defines a manhole extending axially through the sleeve so a person can enter the underground space through the manhole. A manhole cover is moveable to a closed position in which the cover is supported on an upper end of the sleeve and covers the manhole. The sleeve can be received in an opening of a frame of a manhole installation so the sleeve is moveable by gas pressure to an extended position in which gas from the underground space can be vented through the sleeve to an aboveground space. If desired, the sleeve can be installed in an existing manhole installation to upgrade the installation to have an explosion mitigation capability without replacing the conventional manhole cover.

  • Patent number: 7926751
Abstract: A grinding system includes a mill housing. A milling unit in the housing has a moveable milling member operable to grind coal. A drive system includes a drive shaft and at least one gear in a gear case drivingly connecting the milling member to the drive shaft. An exhauster is operable to draw air into the housing through an inlet and draw a mixture of air and powdered coal out of the housing through an outlet. A pressurization system is operable to maintain the gear case pressure at a higher pressure than an air pressure in the housing. In one method of grinding coal a gear case pressure is maintained at a pressure higher than a pressure at the housing inlet while the milling member grinds coal into a powder and the exhauster draws a mixture of powdered coal and air out of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6327541
Abstract: An electronic energy management system is suitable for use with an energy distribution network that provides energy from an energy resource to user sites. A plurality of energy usage meters, at least one at each user site, monitors energy usage at each user site. The system comprises a data acquisition subsystem that acquires energy usage data from the energy usage meters. The energy usage data comprises multiple increments of total energy usage over defined periods of time. An electronic data storage located at a central location remote from the energy usage meters stores the acquired energy usage data. An electronic communication subsystem provides user access to the stored acquired energy usage data from the electronic data storage.
