Patents Assigned to American Allsafe Company
  • Patent number: 6131320
Abstract: Each display panel of a free-standing, foldable floor sign includes an integrally formed handle portion and male and female hinge projections. The male and female hinge projections snap together into interlocking engagement with each other in response to simultaneous axial compression. The male coupling member includes a resilient finger portion and a latching head, and the female coupling member includes a cylindrical collar having a latch pocket and a radially stepped, inwardly projecting retainer. The resilient finger portion is radially deflectable in response to sliding engagement of the latching head against the retainer to permit the latching head to clear the retainer and enter the latch pocket. The display panels are stabilized in a spread-apart service position by a locking arm that is pivotally coupled to the display panels for folding movement within longitudinal slots formed along side edges of the display panels.

  • Patent number: 5771499
Abstract: A face gasket made of a smooth, non-tacky, low durometer, chemically resistant closed cell resin foam is attached onto a goggles frame by injecting the resin into a mold cavity containing a contoured rim portion of the goggles frame. The contoured rim portion is intersected by multiple sprue openings that permit the pressurized resin to flow through the goggles frame and around the contoured rim during molding. The contoured rim portion is embedded within the molded gasket and sprue slugs extend through and fill the openings. The sprue slugs are integrally formed with the main body of the face gasket, thereby defining attachment links that permanently connect the face gasket in splash sealing engagement around the contoured rim and along internal and external sidewall surfaces of the goggles frame.

  • Patent number: 5575009
Abstract: A cold weather face mask and hood combination is characterized by an elastic support strap which is releasably secured to at least one side of the mask and is trained through a retainer loop on the back of the hood so that the fit of the mask on the wearer's face may be adjusted to increase or decrease the snugness and to accommodate a range of sizes and shapes of facial features in the nose, mouth and chin area. The retainer loop holds the support strap in a selected position along the back of the hood to prevent the loop from slipping to the wearer's shoulders. The face mask has a nose-to-chin protecting pocket with a somewhat parabolic curvature to accommodate a range of sizes and shapes of facial features.

  • Patent number: 5426473
Abstract: Adjustable size protective eyewear in the form of visitor safety spectacles have a moveable or adjustable hinge pin coupling between the temple sidebars and the lens frame. An opening in each side of the lens frame contains multiple hinge pin sockets which are aligned at an angle with respect to the lens frame such that movement of the hinge pins from socket to socket not only increases the distance between temple sidebars but also the effective length from the lens frame to the ear piece of the temple sidebar. This arrangement allows a single pair of adjustable safety spectacles to be used by a person of a given head size with the adjustability to fit over the user's prescription eyewear where the user requires the prescription eyewear in addition to the safety spectacles.

  • Patent number: 5216759
Abstract: The eye protection lens of safety goggles provides increased impact protection without utilizing external fasteners or external sealing means. The mechanical attachment of the lens to the goggles rim is improved and stabilized against separation forces by the interlocking engagement of a wedge shaped retainer rib formed along the periphery of the safety lens. The lens support frame has a retainer rim which is intersected by an open slot, thereby defining an outside body portion and an inside body portion. An annular shoulder is formed on the inside body portion and partially closes the open slot. The retainer rib is received within the slot, with its apex being engaged against the inside body portion of the goggles rim, and the wedge portion of the retainer rib being disposed in overlapping, interlocking engagement with the annular shoulder.

  • Patent number: 5090349
Abstract: This invention is a folding warning marker device with multiple panels formed from a sheet of cardboard or other folding material. For exemplary purposes, the invention herein is shown as a four sided truncated cone having various warning indicia on the surface. It is characterized by ease of stacking and storage and toward that end can be stored in a flat layout condition. Disposed at the top of the cone is a vertical slit on opposing sides allowing for the insertion of a ribbon fence from one safety cone to the next thereby cordoning off an area of danger. The top of the truncated cone is characterized by a flap that folds over the slits in order to thus fasten the ribbon passing through to the safety cone. The bottom of the safety cone is characterized by folding flaps thus forming a base of a cone and thus securely holding the structure in place.

  • Patent number: 4796308
Abstract: A pair of strap retainers are mounted on opposite sides of a safety helmet for securing safety goggles in a storage position. An open slot is formed in each retainer thereby defining a hook about which the goggles strap is retained. The goggles along with the head strap are placed against the crown of the hard hat, and the loops defined on each side of the folded head strap are inserted into the retainer slots. The goggles are securely retained onto the helmet with the head strap following a curved path about the crown between the two retainers. Because the elastic goggles strap is retained within open slots, the goggles strap can be folded and quickly inserted into the slot for storage of the goggles, and can be quickly drawn out of the slot so that goggles can be worn independently of the helmet.
