    Abstract: An annular valve seat for a high pressure gate valve. The valve seat is configured to be received in a seat pocket and includes a gate end facing a gate and a body end. The width of the valve seat gradually narrows from the gate end to the body end. The gradually narrowing width of the valve seat improves the seal and reduces debris intrusion between the valve seat and the seat pocket.
