Abstract: A plastic integrally molded single use sealing plug for permanently closing off the center fill opening in metal lids surrounded by an upstanding neck having an inward curl terminating in a free edge. The sealing plug has a circular top wall and a depending cylindrical sidewall which makes at tight friction fit with the neck free edge. A peripheral tamper evident ring is connected to the plug sidewall by a series of frangible connecting webs.

Abstract: An externally threaded closure plug for tightly closing off the internally threaded opening in shipping and storage containers such as drums, pails and the like. The plug is formed as a cup having a bottom wall and threaded cylindrical sidewall terminating in a circumferentially enlarged rim. Immediately beneath the rim of the plug is a gasket seat defined by the undersurface of the plug rim, the plug sidewall and an annular gasket retaining lip lying in a plane parallel to the undersurface of the plug rim. In use, the plug is screwed into and out of a container wall opening, having an internally threaded portion and an unthreaded portion, the sealing gasket being compressed between the unthreaded opening portion and the plug gasket seat and lying in close proximity to the internal thread. The gasket seat acts to prevent interengagement of the sealing gasket and the opening internally threaded portion.

Abstract: A plastic pail having a dispensing closure and a diametrically opposed puncture zone to enable surge free pouring. The dispensing closure has a flexible pouring spout and threaded overcap. The spout dispensing passage is closed off by a tear out sealing diaphragm in initial shipping condition The puncture zone is surrounded by an upstanding retaining collar dimensioned to receive the separated tear out diaphragm which acts as a protective cover for the punctured anti-glug vent during storage and handling.

Abstract: Closure construction for blow molded drums having an upstanding internally threaded neck. A closure plug with sealing gasket is screwed into the neck to provide a liquid tight seal. A plastic tamper evident overseal completely covers the plug and neck and is manually snapped in place so as to interlockingly engage the plug making both the plug wrench engaging structure and the overseal interlocking structure inaccessible without destruction of the overseal. A tear strip opening means is provided for authorized access.
