  • Patent number: 6840272
Abstract: A fuel-conditioning device for removing moisture from fuel includes two replaceable fuel-conditioning cartridges. The cartridges are alternately put in use by selectively positioning a valve actuator. A marking system for the fuel-conditioning cartridges and the valve actuator identifies which cartridge is in use and which can be serviced. A cartridge can be replaced while maintaining a continuous flow of fuel.

  • Patent number: 6837737
Abstract: A system for electrically connecting electrical components. The system comprises a first ribbon cable; a connector cap including a track area adapted to operably engage the ribbon cable, and a connector base having a first ribbon cable receptacle area adapted to electrically engage the first ribbon cable. The connector cap includes a first pair of posts spaced a first distance apart and a second pair of posts spaced a second distance apart, the second distance differing from the first distance. The connector base includes a second receptacle area adapted to electrically engage a second ribbon cable, electrical interconnection wiring electrically interconnecting the first and second receptacles, and a receptacle operably positioned and sized to receive the first pair of posts and sized to interfere with the second pair of posts.

  • Publication number: 20040253101
Abstract: An air handling blower housing for an HVAC system is formed by two opposed housing parts which are each fabricated of a compression molded reinforced thermoset polymer composition. The housing parts are joined along a parting line, preferably perpendicular to the axis of a motor driven impeller mounted within the housing by wedge shaped clips which engage cooperating bosses aligned with each other when the housing parts are joined. The construction of the housing parts provides for an improved method of assembly of an air handling blower of a type particularly adapted for HVAC systems.

  • Publication number: 20040253098
Abstract: An airhandling unit for an HVAC system includes a cabinet having an electric motor driven centrifugal blower disposed therein. The blower includes a scroll or volute type blower housing which may be formed of opposed releasably connectable housing parts. The blower housing parts include opposed sidewalls with axially extending compound curved portions which cooperate with an end wall which is configured to have portions which are not of substantially constant increasing radial distance from the blower impeller axis of rotation. However, a constantly increasing airflow cross-sectional flow area is provided within the blower housing for blower discharge air. The disposition of the blower housing sidewalls with respect to the cabinet walls provides improved airflow distribution for air flowing into the blower air inlet openings.

  • Patent number: 6830099
Abstract: An improved two-phase refrigerant distributor for use in a falling film evaporator in a refrigeration chiller system defines apertures in its undersurface from which serrated collars depend. The serrations cooperate to define locations below the undersurface of the distributor to which liquid refrigerant is drawn prior to exiting the distributor. As a result, the hang-up and/or travel of liquid refrigerant on the distributor undersurface is reduced or eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6742990
Abstract: An air handler enclosure includes a sheet metal panel fastened to a frame of the enclosure with a gasket sealingly compressed between the frame and the face of the panel. The outer edges of the panel are folded over to create a hem that overlays the face of the panel. The gasket is placed against the face of the panel, just inside the inner periphery of the hem. When the panel is installed, the hem abuts the frame to serve as a spacer that keeps the face of the panel a certain distance away from the frame. In this way, the hem prevents the gasket from being over compressed or crushed between the frame and the face of the panel.

  • Patent number: 6728975
Abstract: A flush valve assembly for a water tank of a water closet which includes a first valve member which can be secured to the water tank and has a base sleeve position including a radiused inlet to thereby increase the discharge coefficient of the valve opening. A second valve member is coaxially and slidably mounted with respect to the first valve member so that the valve opening is created between the first and second valve members when the second valve member is removed from the first valve member. The second valve member is slidably movable between a first rest position, wherein the second valve member is seated on the base sleeve portion of the first valve member so that water cannot pass through the valve opening, and a second position, wherein the second valve member is removed from the base sleeve portion of the first valve member so that water can pass through the valve opening.

  • Patent number: 6723150
Abstract: An air filter assembly comprises a plastic frame containing an air permeable filter media. The media is corrugated to provide a series of pleats. Some of the pleats can be folded more compactly than others, so that the media can fit in various size frames. This can reduce the inventory of filter manufacturers and dealers. The filter frame can be plastic injection molded with integral living hinges to enable the frame to fold from a relatively flat shape to a more box-like structure. The frame includes one or more flip-up saw tooth racks that help define a main series of chambers plus a storage chamber. The main series of chambers supports a portion of the media that is more loosely folded for filtering air. The storage chamber is adjacent the main air stream and holds the more compactly folded, excess pleats.
