Abstract: A vehicle and trailer lighting system having an elongated track affixed to a vehicle or trailer. The track includes first and second channels. A lamp assembly is connected to the first channel and selectively positioned along the track. The second channel includes a conductive contact disposed therein. A lamp of the lamp assembly includes and electrical connector extending therefrom to physically contact the electrically conductive contact of the track.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an LED lamp assembly includes anodizing at least a portion of a surface of an electrically and thermally conductive base, such as an aluminum or aluminum alloy base, so as to form an electrically insulating coating. The base may form a heat sink or be coupled to a heat sink. Circuit traces are formed on the anodized surface of the base, which include LED landings. LEDs are electrically and mechanically attached to the LED landing by means of conductive metallic solder such that heat generated from the LED is transferred efficiently through the solder and circuit traces LED landings to the base and heat sink through a metal-to-metal contact pathway.
Abstract: A vehicle light assembly includes a reflector having a plurality of depressions, each depression having interruptions on a reflective surface thereof to maximize reflection. One or more light emitting diodes are disposed within each depression so as to be generally surrounded by the depression. A lens is disposed over the reflector for allowing light to pass therethrough. The lens may include a plurality of domes, each dome disposable over a light emitting diode or cluster of light emitting diodes. Preferably, each dome includes a central dimple lens and spaced apart ridges encircling the central dimple lens which serve to direct light in a selected manner.
