Abstract: A rotatable and removable connection for use in a welding torch assembly that allows for the gooseneck to be removeable and rotatable by the use of an interference member that allows the welding torch assembly to enter a locked, unlocked and partially lock state by moving the interface member about the central axis of the welding torch assembly, the partially lock state allows for rotation of the gooseneck without allowing for removal of the gooseneck, and the electrical connection provides electrical conduction via a conduction member that is independent form the locking features of the welding torch assembly.

Abstract: A rotating coupler assembly for use in welding torches that operates between 0 and 800 amps. The rotating coupler assembly allows for 360 degrees of rotation while keeping rotational friction at a minimum. The breakaway torque for the rotating coupler assembly is insignificant and the rotating coupler assembly can be rotated with little effort by hand. While the rotating coupler assembly minimizes rotational friction the design allow for rotating coupler assembly to continue to operate after 1-5 mm of wear on the contact surfaces. An embodiment of the rotating coupler assembly can be quickly disconnected from the unicable.
Abstract: A nozzle for use with a plasma arc torch is provided. The nozzle has a nozzle body having a length that extends from a proximal end to a distal end, a central bore disposed within the nozzle body along a central axis having a feed orifice at the proximal end of the nozzle body, and a discharge orifice at the distal end of the nozzle body. The central bore has a series of internal sections that transition with one or more radial edges between the feed orifice and the discharge orifice. The series of internal sections have a first section beginning at the feed orifice transitioning to a converging section transitioning at a throat to a diverging section ending at the discharge orifice. The length of the converging section is longer than a length of the diverging section. A Venturi effect is created by the converging and diverging sections of the nozzle.

Abstract: A tool-holding system for centering a cutting tool to be utilized by a machine is disclosed herein. The tool-holding system includes a housing defining a tapered recess to be provided to the machine for receiving at least a portion of the tool, a first alignment portion provided to the housing, and an adaptor including a tapered shank that is to be received within the tapered recess defined by the housing. The adaptor includes an aperture formed in the adaptor for receiving a proximate end of the tool and a tool fastener for securing the proximate end of the tool within the aperture at a predetermined angular orientation therein. A second alignment portion is provided to the adaptor to cooperate with the first alignment portion to establish a predetermined angular orientation of the adaptor relative to the housing while the shank of the adaptor is at least partially inserted into the tapered recess. A fastener is also provided for securing the adaptor within the tapered recess of the housing.
