Patents Assigned to American University of Sharjah
  • Patent number: 11865212
Abstract: Systems and methods for producing liposomes, including control liposomes and immunoliposomes targeting breast cancer are provided. Systems and methods for treating breast cancer, using targeted immunoliposomes produced according to various methods are also disclosed herein. For example, trastuzumab-conjugated immunoliposomes may be used to deliver chemotherapeutic agents to breast cancer tissues for the treatment of breast cancer. Systems and methods for actuating liposomes using ultrasound are also disclosed, such as systems and methods for actuating trastuzumab-conjugated liposomes accumulated in breast cancer tissues for the treatment of breast cancer.

  • Patent number: 11614530
Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate to a miniaturized digital radar system and method that can be fabricated on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and/or a chip, such as on a System-On-a-Chip (SOC). The digital radar system can operate at the S-band (e.g. in the range of 3 GHz). Advantageously, the S-band frequency range is less susceptible and/or not susceptible to clutter from precipitation and is well suited for long range surveillance applications. The small form factor of the miniaturized digital radar system on the PCB and/or the SOC can be implemented on small and/or low-observable platforms, such as on fixed or rotary wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

  • Patent number: 9593977
Abstract: A system including a float ball, a pole, a sleeve, an indicator disk, and a dynamo circuit provides information regarding the water level in a tank, and whether fluid is flowing into the tank. The pole slides within the sleeve, through a slab above the tank. A first end of the pole is supported by the float ball, which floats within the tank, while the second end of the pole is located above the slab and supports the indicator disk. A user can detect the water level in the tank based on the height of the indicator disk. A user can also detect whether water is flowing into the tank. The dynamo circuit activates an LED located on the indicator disk when water is flowing into the tank.

  • Patent number: 7474915
Abstract: This invention provides a novel technique separating two mixed signals. The method is particularly useful for fetal electrocardiogram estimation. A maternal electrocardiogram signal recorded at the thorax area is nonlinearly mapped onto an electrocardiogram signal recorded at the abdomen using polynomial networks. The fetal electrocardiogram component is then estimated by subtracting the nonlinearly mapped maternal electrocardiogram signal from the abdominal electrocardiogram signal.
