Abstract: Aspects of the present application relate to a bypass switch for a lamp, such as a surgical or diagnostic lamp. When activated, the bypass switch may act to allow electric power to bypass elements of a control board so that the electric power is provided to the plurality of lamp elements.
Abstract: A lamp is disclosed with a circuit board that is manufactured from a flexible material. The lamp may find particular use in a surgical or diagnostic environment. The flexible material allows the orientation of lamp elements to allow for a custom light beam. The flexible circuit board allows for interconnection between multiple lamp elements at different angles and rotation without having individual rigid circuit boards. Furthermore, the flexible circuit board may be mounted to a back panel, wherein the back panel is configured to act as a heat sink to dissipate heat generated, in operation, by the lamp element.
Abstract: What is presented is a mechanical arm assembly with a novel roller thrust bearing. The mechanical arm assembly comprises a first arm having a first end and a second end. A first roller thrust bearing is mounted to the first end and to a ceiling. A second roller thrust bearing mounted to the second end. Each roller thrust bearing comprises a first bearing body and a second bearing body able to rotate relative to each other. Each roller thrust bearing has a solenoid powered brake comprising two brake shoes each with a high friction brake pad mounted to a hinge body affixed to the first bearing body, a brake drum mounted to the second bearing body, a tension spring pushing the brake shoes against the brake drum, and a mechanism for disengaging the brake shoes from the brake drum. The mechanism comprises a slider body with space for two pins, two ball bearings, and a plunger with sloped surfaces on one end and a mounting provision on the other. A solenoid is attached to the mounting provision.

Abstract: An overbed table with a primary table top may be expanded through the deployment of a secondary table top. Advantageously, by appropriately arranging the position of the manner by which the secondary table top is mounted to the overbed table, the top surface of the secondary table top can occupy the same plane as the top surface of the primary table top. Additionally, the overbed table may incorporate further features including equipment rails, power receptacles, networking receptacles and a computing device.
