Abstract: The system comprises in combination: a) at least one station (1-13) for detecting the irradiation conditions; b) at least one connection means (19, 21) from said detection station to a user terminal (23); c) at least one detection device (25) for detecting the characteristics of the epidermis of the person who is to be exposed to the ultraviolet radiation; d) correlation means in said user terminal for correlating the irradiation conditions to the characteristics of the epidermis of the person and to the protection factor of any skin-protecting preparations used by the person or to the radiation exposure time, said correlation means indicating the exposure time or the protection factor as a function of the remaining correlated parameters.
