  • Patent number: 5087804
Abstract: A self-regulating heater including a body of electrically non-conductive material, an induction coil embedded within the body, lossy heating particles dispersed within the body and connection terminals for supplying power to the induction coil. The lossy heating particles produce heat when subjected to an alternating magnetic field produced by the induction coil. The lossy heating particles have a Curie temperature approximately equal to a substantially constant auto-regulation temperature at which the body is heated. The connection terminals supply power to the induction coil so that the induction coil can produce an alternating magnetic field of sufficient intensity to cause the lossy heating particles to heat the body to the auto-regulation temperature.

  • Patent number: 4772225
Abstract: An electrical terminal having electrical circuit components mounted in series thereon comprises a body section having terminal sections extending outwardly from each end, the terminal sections being adapted to be electrically connected to complementary conductive means of other respective electrical articles. The body section includes at least one component-receiving portion having a first section and a second section initially integrally joined by a severable section. A dielectric housing means is secured to the body section, the housing means having a component-receiving aperture therein associated with each of the component-receiving portions, the first and second and severable sections initially being exposed along a bottom surface of the aperture. The housing means is adapted to permit severing of the several section, thus electrically disconnecting the associated first and second sections.

  • Patent number: 4752231
Abstract: Electrical connector intended for use between spaced-apart parallel circuit boards comprises a rigid insulating housing having oppositely facing connector mating surfaces which are opposed to the surfaces of the circuit boards. Sheet metal conductors are contained in the housing assembly, each conductor having end portions which extend beyond the connector mating surfaces. Each conductor has an intermediate spring portion which is within the housing assembly so that the end portions of the conductors can be moved recessively into the housing with accompanying flexure of the spring. In use, the connector is clamped between the opposed surfaces of the circuit boards with the end portions of the conductors opposed to terminal pads on the circuit board surfaces. The spring portions of the conductors are flexed so that the end portions are urged against, and into, the terminal pads thereby to establish electrical contact.

  • Patent number: 4300282
Abstract: An electrically operated tool is disclosed for inserting one or more insulated electrical wires into a barrel shaped, slotted terminal. A modified solenoid provides a hammer action power stroke which is initiated by partially retracting the toolhead inwardly of the tool upon movement of the tool against the barrel terminal. A trigger circuit applies line voltage to the solenoid windings, saturating the core, to provide rapid power stroke, so that the solenoid armature hammers against a strike plate of the toolhead. The trigger circuit includes a high and low power adjustment.
