  • Patent number: 5388852
Abstract: In a compact folding child's stroller a front leg and a rear leg each carry at least one wheel. A push bar has a holding area at its upper end. An articulated X-shape rear chassis joins together the two rear legs. Each push bar can slide parallel to the respective front leg between a deployed position and a folded position. Each rear leg is articulated to the respective front leg. A connecting link connects the lower end of each push bar to the respective rear leg. An operating link is articulated to the connecting link and connected to a sliding piece which slides on each rear leg and to which is articulated the upper end of the X-shape rear chassis in order to cause folding of the X-shape chassis and movement towards each other of the two lateral chassis units when the stroller is folded up.

  • Patent number: 4997066
Abstract: Wheel-locking device, in particular for a pram, which includes at least one wheel unit (4) and a wheel-locking member capable of being displaced substantially parallel to the axle of the wheel and of coming into contact with the wheel rim in order to lock its rotational position, wherein the wheel unit (4) is linked to the frame of the pram by means of a vertical linking sleeve (12) and in that the locking member includes a movable finger (14a, 14b) actuated by a control shaft (15) which moves vertically inside the linking sleeve. A single action on the flexible rod 18 therefore simultaneously locks the two pivoting wheel units of the axle beam 3 in terms of rotation. In one embodiment, the same wheel units may be locked in a fixed direction by means of locking parts (32, 33) interacting with the notches (30) of the linking sleeve (12).

  • Patent number: 4953667
Abstract: The wheel braking device comprises a chassis mounted by a suspension on an axle common to a pair of wheels and a brake member operated by a brake pedal and adapted to brake the rotation of at least one wheel. The brake pedal is mounted for rotation with the axle. The suspension member is mounted near the wheel, about an eccentric fastened to the axle, and is provided with a brake member. The wheel is provided with a brake drum fastened to the wheel and adapted to cooperate by its periphery with the corresponding brake member when the axle is turned in a first direction through action on the brake pedal, thus bringing the brake member towards and into contact with the periphery of the brake drum. The same action is controlled simultaneously on the other wheel on the axle.

  • Patent number: 4844504
Abstract: A folding push-chair comprises two side chassis assemblies 6, each including a main support arm 8 linked to a front strut 9 and a rear strut 10. Each main support arm 8 lies parallel to the front strut 9 and cooperates therewith in a sliding manner, between an outward position when the push-chair is opened-out and a retracted position when collapsed, the rear strut 10 being coupled to the main support arm 8 and to the front strut 9 so that, during the relative sliding movement, the rear strut moves between a collapsed position in which it is closed against the main support arm and the front strut, and an opened-out position, in which it is in an active position, able to support the push-chair.

  • Patent number: 4681340
Abstract: The seat unit of a folding pushchair comprises a frame which is provided on each side, on the one hand with a seat-back side member swingably supported at the lower end thereof by the particular rear wheel-strut and stiffening link-rod which is pivotally attached to the lower end of the main supporting arm and, on the other hand, with a connecting-rod pivotally attached at one end to the seat-back side member and at the other end to the upper end of the front wheel-strut. For the purpose of folding the pushchair, the structural design is such as to ensure that, when the main supporting arm and the front wheel-strut withdraw in sliding motion and the rear wheel-strut is swung back against said arm and strut under the tractive force applied by the stiffening link-rod, the seat-back side member and the connecting-rod also return to the folded-back position.
