Abstract: An automated music composition and generation system allowing uses to create and deliver electronic messages and documents such as text, SMS and email, augmented with automatically-composed music generated using user-selected music emotion and style descriptors. The automated music composition and generation system includes an automated music composition and generation engine operably connected to a system user interface, and the infrastructure of the Internet. Mobile and desktop client machines provide text, SMS and/or email services supported on the Internet. Each client machine has a text application, SMS application and/or email application that is augmented by the addition of automatically-composed music by users using the automated music composition and generation engine.
Abstract: An automated music composition and generation process within an automated music composition and generation system driven by lyrical musical experience descriptors. The process involves the system user accessing said automated music composition and generation system, employing an automated music composition and generation engine having a system user interface. The system user interface is used to select and provide musical experience descriptors, including lyrics, to the automated music composition and generation engine for processing by said automated music composition and generation engine. The system user initiates the automated music composition and generation engine to compose and generate music based on the provided musical descriptors including lyrics.
Abstract: A toy musical instrument having a compact housing supporting an automated music composition and generation engine that is driven by icon-based musical experience descriptors and musical style descriptors, selected by a child or adult during a video scoring process.
Abstract: An automated music composition and generation system for automatically composing and generating digital pieces of music using an automated music composition and generation engine driven by a set of emotion-type and style-type musical experience descriptors and time and/or space parameters supplied by a system user during an automated music composition and generation process. The system includes a system user interface allowing a system user to input (i) linguistic and/or graphical icon based musical experience descriptors, and (ii) a video, audio-recording, image, slide-show, or event marker, as input through the system user interface.
Abstract: An autonomous music composition and performance system employing an automated music composition and generation engine configured to receive musical signals from a set of a real or synthetic musical instruments being played by a group of human musicians. The system buffers and analyzes musical signals from the set of real or synthetic musical instruments, composes and generates music in real-time that augments the music being played by the band of musicians, and/or records, analyzes and composes music recorded for subsequent playback, review and consideration by the human musicians.
Abstract: Automated music composition and generation machine, systems and methods, and architectures that allow anyone, without possessing any knowledge of music theory or practice, or expertise in music or other creative endeavors, to instantly create unique and professional-quality music, synchronized to any kind of media content, including, but not limited to, video, photography, slideshows, and any pre-existing audio format, as well as any object, entity, and/or event, wherein the system user only requires knowledge of ones own emotions and/or artistic concepts which are to be expressed in a piece of music that will ultimately composed by the automated composition and generation system of the present invention.

Abstract: Device for printing endorsements on documents passing through a document processing apparatus. The device comprises a rotatable outer housing having a cylindrically shaped exterior surface and a ring gear having a toothed first part and a toothless second part. A stamp for printing endorsements and at least one band having digits or characters thereon form a substantially continuos surface with the exterior surface of the outer housing. When the endorsing device is rotated by a pinion meshing with the ring gear, the digits or characters, as well as the stamp, contact a document passing through the document processing apparatus. During the rotation of the outer housing, further rotation is prevented by an arm which engages a projection on the outer housing and biasing means which biases the arm into locked engagement with the projection. When the arm engages the projection, the pinion is unable to rotate the outer housing as the toothless part of the ring gear is now facing the pinion.

Abstract: A stack of documents to be supplied to a processing device rest on at least one pull wheel for pulling the documents towards the processing device. A pushing element exerts a constant and uniform force which pushes the stack of documents against the pull wheel. The pull wheel pulls the documents towards a guide. The guide, which is configured such that only one document is permitted to pass through to the processing device, includes a first roller with three toric projections mounted thereon on one side of the guide and a pair of rollers with two toric projections mounted therebetween on the other side of the guide. As the direction of the rollers on opposite sides of the guide rotate in different directions and as the force of rotation of the single first roller is greater than the force of rotation of the two second rollers, the toric projections mounted on opposite sides of the guide will only permit documents to pass therebetween one at a time.
Abstract: A device for sorting documents exiting a document processor such as a document reader or document printer includes at least one document guide which defines an undeflected document travel path and a document bin which includes a series of compartments for receiving sorted documents. Each document guide will alternately permit the documents to travel along the undeflected document travel path to a first document bin or to deflect such documents in first or second deflected document travel paths to compartments of second document bins. By selectively deflecting documents entering the document guide, previously processed documents may be sorted according to document type. Each document guide is comprised of first and second concave guide parts mounted side by side to define an undeflected document travel path therebetween and first and second convex guide parts mounted outside the concave guide parts. The concave guide parts each have a concavely curved outer side.
Abstract: A current detector circuit, preferably for use in telephone equipment, to detect the on-hook and off-hook conditions of of such equipment, includes two equal transformers which have primary coils mounted in series and secondary coils mounted in series opposition, but in series with a circuit within which it is desired to detect the current. The primary coils constitute the load of the collector of an NPN transistor. Such collector is connected by means of a resistor to the base of a PNP transistor.
