Patent number: 10676384Abstract: A portable water recycling and treatment system and process for used and produced flowback frac water pumps the water from a collection tank through a series of dedicated hydration, retention and filtering tanks and vessels that provide treatment for the removal of chemicals, sediments and other containments. The system, which is enclosed, can be readily assembled on-site by interconnecting the dedicated tanks, vessels and pumps. The tanks and vessels may be situated in a plurality of trailers that are transported separately to the site.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2017Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignee: Amperage Energy Inc.Inventor: Chad Allen Randal

Patent number: 10633598Abstract: The systems and methods reduce the total acid number (TAN) in crude oil. The crude oil, that includes naphthenic acid, is mixed with at least a caustic solution (e.g., sodium hydroxide) to produce a mixture. After mixing, the mixture is pumped to an atomizing tank. The mixture is spray-atomized in the mixing tank to produce a condensed liquid state of the crude oil that settles at the bottom of the atomizer tank and to produce minute droplets (e.g. mist, fog or the like) of the caustic. The minute droplets interact with and neutralize the naphthenic acid in the condensed liquid state of the crude oil for a predefined period of time. As a result, the resulting crude oil in the bottom of the atomizer tank has a reduced TAN and includes salt water. Additionally, the resulting crude oil has a water concentration that does not exceed 0.5%.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2018Date of Patent: April 28, 2020Assignee: Amperage Energy Inc.Inventor: Chad Allen Randal

Patent number: 10584044Abstract: Systems and methods for removing iron from waste water employ one or more oxidizers, one or more treatment tanks having one or more self-generating and self-sustaining active sludge layers, and one or more spray-atomizing devices. A mixture of flowback fracturing water, or produced water, and the one or more oxidizers is spray-atomized by the spray-atomizing device inside the one or more treatment tanks. The atomized mixture settles in the one or more treatment tanks resulting in one or more self-generating and self-sustaining active sludge layers and one or more treated solutions. Additional mixtures of the flowback fracturing water, or produced water, and the one or more oxidizers may be continually spray-atomized into the one or more treatment tanks and filtered by the one or more sludge layer(s) so as to remove precipitated iron species from accumulated distillates and produce additional treated solutions for collection in one or more finish tanks.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2017Date of Patent: March 10, 2020Assignee: Amperage Energy Inc.Inventor: Chad Allen Randal

Patent number: 10131552Abstract: Mobile treatment systems and methods for use in removing sulfates from contaminated water using a pre-treatment subsystem configured to remove particulates and debris from the contaminated water and to produce pre-treated water; a treatment subsystem configured to remove sulfates from the pre-treated water and to produce treated water, the treatment subsystem including at least one treatment tank with a collection unit having one or more filters with pore or inlet sizes of approximately 0.35-1.2 mm; and at least one storage tank configured to collect the treated water. Optionally, the systems and methods may use a backwash subsystem configured to backwash the treatment subsystem.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2015Date of Patent: November 20, 2018Assignee: Amperage Energy Inc.Inventor: Chad Allen Randal

Patent number: 9988580Abstract: Mobile treatment systems and methods for use in removing hydrogen sulfide from oilfield effluents. The systems and methods use a pre-treatment subsystem, a vapor treatment subsystem and a treatment subsystem interconnected by a plurality of piping and valve subsystems. The systems and methods are not dependent on pH and may operate at temperatures as low as ?20° C. The systems are easily transported to, and readily assembled at a site and are inexpensive, simple, quick, and extremely effective at removing large-scale quantities of hydrogen sulfide from oilfield effluents.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2014Date of Patent: June 5, 2018Assignee: Amperage Energy Inc.Inventor: Chad Allen Randal
