Abstract: A container is provided comprising a polygonal shaped external wall with integral floor tabs folded upon one another to form a floor of the container. Concentrically disposed within, and immediately adjacent an interior wall of the polygonal shaped external wall is a complementary shaped internal wall. Disposed within the confines of the internal wall and resting upon the floor of the container is a tray assembly for retaining a package containing the contents to be transported within the container. Provision may be made through a portion of the tray and the complementary walls for emptying of the package within the container. Reinforcement of the walls of the container is obtained by a one or more reinforcement provisions made along the upper edges of the container walls and the container may be closed and covered by a removable cap assembly. Once the container is used, the materials forming the container may easily be recycled or reduced in size for disposal.

  • Patent number: 5531165
Abstract: The structural member is made from corrugated board or fiberboard and has a longitudinal axis. It comprises a housing having a top wall, a bottom wall and a pair of side walls. A pair of laterally spaced-apart internal dividers are located within the interior of the housing on opposite sides of the axis and extend from one end of the housing to the other end. A plurality of laterally extending reinforcing elements are located within the housing and are supported by the pair of internal dividers. The reinforcing elements have peripheral edges which contact the walls of the housing to provide support for the walls. The structural member is constructed and designed to withstand many pounds of applied force before failure.

  • Patent number: 5509534
Abstract: A two-piece plastic dunnage is disclosed for use within containers for shipping or storing items in a preselected arrangement within a container. The preferred embodiment of the two-piece dunnage designed in accordance with this invention includes an essentially flat base member and a generally U-shaped support member that is slidably and removably coupled with the base member in a supporting position. The support member may be provided with a plurality of transverse slots which are adapted to nestingly receive at least a portion of the items that are to be maintained within the container in the preselected arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5452817
Abstract: A collapsible bin has corner constructions that provides reinforcement at the corners thereof and joins the walls of the bin in a box configuration that may be collapsed. The collapsible corner construction includes a pair of casements joined together by an anchor pin. The anchor pin is received in T-slots within each of the casements. The anchor pin may be slipped or removed from the T-slots to release the casements from their joined condition, so that the walls of the container may be collapsed. An interlocking tab and slot configuration provides interlocking means for stacking one collapsible bin upon another.

  • Patent number: 5452811
Abstract: A stackable partitioned shipping container has a plurality of partitions and shelves defining compartments. The partitions are aligned parallel from one side of the shipping container to the other. The shelving is arranged in columns between the partitions. Rods are strung through the partitions to support the shelves. The frames have hollow tubular columns at each corner thereof. At the top of the columns are inserts which are insertable into the hollow columns of another shipping container stacked upon the first shipping container. Wheels that support the shipping container are supported above the top of a bottom container when the container is stacked upon the bottom container.
