Patent number: 12643715Abstract: A container includes first and second shells sealingly engageable with each other. Each shell includes a rim, where the rim of each shell includes a rim bead having an inner wall and an outer wall. The inner wall and the outer wall of the rim bead of the second shell frictionally engage the inner wall and the outer wall, respectively, of the rim bead of the first shell to sealingly engage the rims. The container also includes hinge panels each extending outwardly from one of the rims of the first and second shells. The hinge panels are hingedly connected to each another along a hinge line to form a foldable section that includes the hinge panels and the hinge line. The foldable section has a frangible line formed on each of the hinge panels, where the frangible line extends transversely between the hinge panels and transects the hinge line.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2024Date of Patent: June 2, 2026Assignee: Anchor Packaging, LLCInventor: Kevin Krueger

Patent number: 12643720Abstract: A container includes a base and a lid sealingly engageable with the base. The base includes a base hinge panel and the lid includes a lid hinge panel. The base hinge panel and the lid hinge panel are hingedly connected along a hinge line to form a foldable section. The foldable section has a first side edge, a second side edge, and a frangible line that extends between the first side edge and the second side edge. In extending between the first side edge and the second side edge, the frangible line extends across each of a portion of the base hinge panel, the hinge line, and a portion of the lid hinge panel.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2022Date of Patent: June 2, 2026Assignee: Anchor Packaging, LLCInventor: Kevin Krueger

Patent number: 12043454Abstract: A method of thermoforming a container includes forming a lid having a lid rim, and forming a base including a base rim. The method also includes forming a foldable section that joins the lid rim and the base rim and includes a lid hinge panel extending from the lid rim to a hinge and a base hinge panel extending from the base rim to the hinge. The method also includes forming a frangible line that extends from an edge of the lid hinge panel, across a portion of the lid hinge panel to a first point, from the first point across the lid hinge panel to the hinge, across the hinge, across the base hinge panel from the hinge to a second point on the base hinge panel, and from the second point across a portion of the base hinge panel to an outside edge of the base hinge panel.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2022Date of Patent: July 23, 2024Assignee: ANCHOR PACKAGING, LLCInventor: Kevin Krueger

Patent number: 11479392Abstract: The tamper evident container includes a base with a base hinge panel and a lid with a lid hinge panel. A hinge connects the panels. A frangible line extends from an edge of the lid hinge panel to a first point on the panel and then outwardly to the hinge. The frangible line crosses the hinge and extends inwardly to a second point on the base hinge panel. From the second point the frangible line extends to an edge of the base hinge panel. When the container is initially sealed, the frangible line separates upon the application of an upwardly directed force to a first portion of the lid hinge panel while a second portion of the lid hinge panel is held in a fixed position or moved downwardly. The separation of the frangible line creates two grasping portions that can be used to pull the lid from the base.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2020Date of Patent: October 25, 2022Assignee: Anchor Packaging, LLCInventor: Kevin Krueger

Publication number: 20210362921Abstract: A tamper evident container includes a base with a base rim adjoining a base hinge panel and a lid with a lid rim adjoining a lid hinge panel. Patent number: 11117720Abstract: A plastic container includes a lid adapted for leak-proof sealing state with a base. Mating surfaces of the lid and base rims form one or more proximal seal zones when the lid rim and base rim are in an initially sealed state. Hinge-forming structure extends from a first hinge-joining section of the lid rim to a second hinge-joining section on the base rim. In the initially sealed state the first hinge-joining section superposes over all or part of the second hinge-joining section, the area at which the first hinge-joining-section superposes the second hinge-joining section defines an overlapping portion of the first and second hinge-joining sections. One or more vent channels are formed in either of the lid rim or base rim and located within the radially overlapping portion. The one or more channels form a complete discontinuity in the one or more proximal seal zones. Because the channels are within the overlapping portion, they are protected from tampering access.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2019Date of Patent: September 14, 2021Assignee: Anchor Packaging, LLCInventor: Mike Pohlman
