  • Patent number: 4180247
Abstract: The invention is an improved method and device for attaching chain link fabric to the framework of fences and other such enclosures. In particular, the invention provides a novel and unique method and device for holding chain link fabric to the outside face or surface of said framework. The framework (end post, line post, top rail, and/or bottom rail) is provided with a plurality of slots in the sides of the members of the framework, into which special clips or retainers mesh by press-fit and hold the chain link fabric in place. The said clips or retainers being capable of providing a tight connection to maintain the interface between the chain link fabric and the framework member to which attached one tension on the chain link fabric to keep it taut has been established. Several types of clips are provided that may be used. The system is useable on a variety of framework member cross-sectional designs.

  • Patent number: 4154429
Abstract: The invention is an improved method for the electrical grounding of insulation coated chain link fabric that is usually used for fences or similar enclosures. The invention provides a continuous wire at the top or bottom, or both, edges of the erected fabric that electrically connects each of the insulation coated wires which make up the fabric. The continuous wire is then grounded at intervals along the length of the fence or enclosure and thus effectively electrically grounds the fabric. Numerous variations in the configuration of the wire are included in the embodiments for accomplishing the grounding.

  • Patent number: 4154430
Abstract: The invention is an improved method for electrical grounding of plastics coated chain link fabric that is usually used for fences or similar enclosures. The invention provides a method for grounding by employing an insulating coating containing conductive particles to form a continuous linkage or electrical path through and between all wires that compose the fabric. The said fabric, after said continuous linkage or electrical path is established, is then grounded at various intervals along the length of the fence or enclosure and thus effectively electrically grounds the fabric.

  • Patent number: 4132390
Abstract: The invention is an improved method and apparatus for making a gate or fence panel assembly for a fenced enclosure. In particular, the invention provides a novel and unique method and apparatus for holding chain link fabric in a gate or fence panel. The frame of the gate or panel is provided with a plurality of teeth-like ridges in the interior sides of the special channel-like members of the frame, into which special clips or retainers mesh by press-fit and hold the chain link fabric in place. The said clips or retainers being capable of providing tension on the chain link fabric to keep it taut. Special interior corner connectors are provided in the invention to secure the frame in a rectangular or other geometrical shape or configuration, with special designed cover clips for the mitred joint at the corners of the gate.
