Patents Assigned to Anchor Tool & Die Company
  • Patent number: 7223044
Abstract: A frame member miter guide or brace has first and second legs configured for insertion and engagement with adjoining frame members at a mitered joint, the miter guide having a stop with stop edges which accurately position intersecting walls of the frame members for precise alignment of the mitered joint. Stop edges of the stop correspond with the correct positions of the frame members, so that the members are held in place for final attachment and installation. Positive engagement of edges of the frame member walls with the stop edges insures highly accurate orientation of the mitered joint. A fracture line for welded installation of the frame members, and a leg profile which minimizes damage in handling and installation is also described.

  • Patent number: 7097219
Abstract: A striker assembly for latch engagement has a striker piece and a striker mount which encapsulates a portion of the striker piece to secure and mount the striker piece on a structure for engagement with a latch. In one embodiment, the striker mount is formed by a pair of cooperating base pieces which include a mounting plate and a striker plate. The base pieces form a striker-receiving cavity for encapsulating a portion of the striker. Alternate forms of striker pieces and striker mounts are also described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 6883842
Abstract: Mechanically locked strikers have a base, a striker bar, and a locking arm which extends from the base to the striker bar. In one embodiment the striker bar and locking arm are formed integrally with the base, with the striker bar extending from the base at one point or area, and the locking arm mechanically attached to the base at another point or area. Alternatively, the locking arm may extend from the base at one point or area, and the striker bar is mechanically attached to the base at another point or area. In another embodiment, the striker bar and locking arm are each mechanically locked to the base. A segment of the locking arm forms a bridge over the base, defining a throat for engagement of a latch about the striker bar.

  • Patent number: 6692046
Abstract: A striker assembly for latch engagement has symmetrical sides of three intersecting plates including a mounting plate, a striker plate in which a striker throat and striker bar is formed, and a back plate which intersects the mounting plate and striker plate. The back plate adds substantial structural strength to the striker and prevents consumption of the striker by the latch under severe overload conditions such as in a collision. A cap weld over the contact surface of the striker bar further increases strength and reduces friction with the engaging latch pawl. One piece and two piece embodiments are described, and in combination with over-slam bumpers mounted on the back plates, and an insert piece in combination with the one piece embodiment.

  • Patent number: 6682258
Abstract: An assembly for adjusting the elevation of a structure such as a manhole or a catch basin to be surrounded by pavement. A one-piece is formed to be inserted between a base rim and a cover of the structure. A lower member of the adapter is received in the base rim to be supported on an internal shoulder. An upper member extends outwardly of the lower member to receive the cover and upwardly to engage the upper end of the base rim and form an upward extension of the rim. The elevation of the structure may be increased by inserting the adapter between the base rim shoulder and the cover and decreased by removing the adapter from between the base rim shoulder and the cover. Additional adapters of identical construction may be inserted to further increase the elevation of the structure, all the adapters being nestable within one another.
