  • Patent number: 12125944
Abstract: A light emitting diode includes an n-type semiconductor layer including a pit structure formed therein, active layers grown only on sidewalls of the pit structure and configured to emit light, and a p-type semiconductor layer on the active layers and at least partially in the pit structure. In one embodiment, the pit structure is characterized by a shape of an inverted pyramid. The pit structure is formed in the n-type semiconductor layer by, for example, etching the n-type semiconductor layer using an etch mask layer having apertures with slanted sidewalls, or growing the n-type semiconductor layer on a substrate through a mask layer having an array of apertures.

  • Patent number: 12126845
Abstract: Implementations disclosed herein are directed to ephemeral learning of machine learning (“ML”) model(s) based on gradient(s) generated at a remote system (e.g., remote server(s)). Processor(s) of the remote system can receive stream(s) of audio data capturing spoken utterance(s) from a client device of a user. A fulfillment pipeline can process the stream(s) of audio data to cause certain fulfillment(s) of the spoken utterance(s) to be performed. Meanwhile, a training pipeline can process the stream(s) of audio data to generate gradient(s) using unsupervised learning techniques. Subsequent to the processing by the fulfillment pipeline and/or the training pipeline, the stream(s) of audio data are discarded by the remote system. Accordingly, the ML model(s) can be trained at the remote system without storing or logging of the stream(s) of audio data by non-transient memory thereof, thereby providing more efficient training mechanisms for training the ML model(s) and also increasing security of user data.

  • Patent number: 12127179
Abstract: The systems, methods, and techniques described in this disclosure allow different wireless systems that operate in accordance with different Radio Access Technologies (RATs) to coexist within a same frequency domain with minimal (if any) inter-RAT interference. Specifically, the described techniques allocate a respective, mutually-exclusive portion of a plurality of Space-Time-Frequency (STF) resources for use in communicating in accordance with each different RAT. For example, mutually-exclusive portions of spatial domain resources, time domain resources, and/or frequency domain resources may be respectively allocated for exclusive use by different RATs. A centralized, third-party controller (120) may perform the allocations, or the allocations may be cooperatively arrived at between systems supporting different RATs, e.g., in a peer-to-peer manner. STF resource allocations may be static and/or dynamic over time, and STF resources may be uniquely identified by respective resource identifiers.

  • Patent number: 12123417
Abstract: At least one computer-readable medium on which are stored instructions that, when executed by at least one processing device, enable the processing device to perform a method. The method includes determining a peak-efficiency range of a set of one or more pumps. The peak-efficiency range has an upper limit and a lower limit. The upper limit has an associated stage-down pump speed and the lower limit has an associated stage-up pump speed. The pump speed of the set of one or more pumps is determined. If the pump speed of the set of one or more pumps exceeds the stage-down pump speed, an operating pump of the set of one or more pumps is deactivated. If the pump speed of the set of one or more pumps falls below the stage-up pump speed, an operating pump is added to the set of one or more pumps.

  • Patent number: 12123735
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to generating and providing route options for an autonomous vehicle. For example, a user may identify a destination, and in response the vehicle's computer may provide routing options to the user. The routing options may be based on typical navigating considerations such as the total travel time, travel distance, fuel economy, etc. Each routing option may include not only an estimated total time, but also information regarding whether and which portions of the route may be maneuvered under the control of the vehicle alone (fully autonomous), a combination of the vehicle and the driver (semiautonomous), or the driver alone. The time of the longest stretch of driving associated with the autonomous mode as well as map information indicating portions of the routes associated with the type of maneuvering control may also be provided.

  • Patent number: 12122349
Abstract: A system for controlling torque in a vehicle includes a controller connected to a propulsion system having a plurality of independently controllable actuators configured to apply a combined torque. The controller is configured to perform a method including detecting a combined torque request indicating a total requested torque to be applied to the vehicle, where the total requested torque is split and a portion of the total requested torque is assigned to each actuator. The method further includes determining a torque command for each actuator, estimating a total applied torque provided to the vehicle, and based on a difference between the total applied torque and the total requested torque being greater than a first threshold, calculating an error value for each actuator, comparing each error value to a reference value, and performing a remedial action based on at least one error value exceeding the reference value.

  • Patent number: 12125513
Abstract: A system on chip (SOC) integrated circuit device having an incorporated ferroelectric memory configured to be selectively refreshed, or not, depending on different operational modes. The ferroelectric memory is formed of an array of ferroelectric memory elements (FMEs) characterized as non-volatile, read-destructive semiconductor memory cells each having at least one ferroelectric layer. The FMEs can include FeRAM, FeFET or FTJ constructions. A read/write circuit writes data to the FMEs and subsequently reads back data from the FMEs responsive to respective write and read signals supplied by a processor circuit of the SOC. A refresh circuit is selectively enabled in a first normal mode to refresh the FMEs after a read operation, and is selectively disabled in a second exception mode so that the FMEs are not refreshed after a read operation. The FMEs can be used as a main memory, a cache, a buffer, an OTP, a keystore, etc.

  • Patent number: 12124541
Abstract: Certain aspects of the technology disclosed involve providing a virtual machine instance with license management data to identify and differentiate various virtual machine instances. A virtual appliance may generate license management data in response to a triggering event of a virtual machine. The triggering event may include any of a migration, clone, snapshot, or request via a representational state transfer endpoint. The virtual machine may provide the license management data to a license server and a licensed application configured to run on the virtual machine. The license management data may be used in resource management systems, such as a license management system, to defeat licensing exploits in a cloud computing environment.
