Abstract: A wearable device receives ticket information for an event and information indicating a quantity of funds allocated from an account, associated with a user of a user device, to the wearable device, and stores the ticket information and the information indicating the quantity of funds. The wearable device utilizes a wireless component to pair the wearable device and the user device, and provides, to the user device and via the wireless component, the ticket information and information indicating access privileges for the event. The wearable device generates a token for a PoS device for a charge incurred at the event during an offline transaction with the PoS device, and provides, via a NFC component, the token to the PoS device. The wearable device provides, to the user device and via the wireless component, information indicating that that the token was provided to the PoS device.
Abstract: Systems and methods for automated network cabling integrity monitoring are provided. In one embodiment a system manager for a network that includes a network switch coupled to patching equipment comprises: at least one processor configured to execute software, the software comprising a network integrity monitor. The network integrity monitor controls a cable diagnostic test function to obtain a fault-distance measurement for a port of the switch. The network integrity monitor correlates the fault-distance measurement with network cable length information associated with the switch port to identify one or both of a network cable segment associated with the fault-distance measurement and a fault location. The cable length information is retrieved from a database. The network integrity monitor produces an output identifying of one or both of the network cable segment associated with the fault-distance measurement and the fault location to be displayed on a display device.

Abstract: Techniques for electronic device access are discussed. In one embodiment, data indicative of a card number associated with a bank-issued debit card is received at a computing device. The debit card is associated with a bank account at a bank that issued the bank-issued debit card. The computing device also receives data related to a check to be deposited into the bank account and routes encrypted data indicative of the card number and the data associated with the check to a gateway vendor server from where it is further routed to a payment network server for deposit of an amount indicated by the data associated with the check into the bank account associated with the card number.
Abstract: An image sensor has a photocathode window assembly, an anode assembly, and a malleable metal seal. The photocathode window assembly has a photocathode layer. The anode assembly includes a silicon substrate that has an electron sensitive surface. The malleable metal seal bonds the photocathode window assembly and the silicon substrate to each other. A vacuum gap separates the photocathode layer from the electron sensitive surface. A first electrical connection and a second electrical connection are for a voltage bias of the photocathode layer relative to the electron sensitive surface.

Abstract: A device can include an internal secure processing environment (SE) and communicate with a configuration system. The device may utilize a near field communications (NFC) radio. A mobile handset can connect with the SE in the device using NFC. The mobile handset can communicate with the configuration system and receive configuration data and a software package for the device. The SE can derive a PKI key pair and send the derived public key to the configuration system via the mobile handset. The SE and the configuration system can mutually derive an encryption key using the derived PKI key pair. The configuration data can be transmitted over the NFC radio, and the mobile handset can establish a Wi-Fi access point. The software package can be encrypted using the encryption key and transmitted to the device over the established Wi-Fi access point, thereby completing a configuration step for the device.
Abstract: An axle assembly having an electric motor, a wheel end assembly, and a reduction gear module. The electric motor may have a rotor that is rotatable about a first axis. The wheel end assembly may be rotatable about a second axis that may be disposed above the first axis. The reduction gear module may transmit torque between the electric motor and the wheel end assembly.
Abstract: A self-retracting syringe has an injection assembly and a retraction assembly. The injection assembly has a housing, a spring rest, and a spring that is restrained initially in compression between the housing and the spring rest. A plunger rod is disposed inside the coil of the spring. A coupler in contact with the spring rest and the plunger rod releasably couples the plunger rod to the spring rest. When a latch is released, the plunger rod moves distally to urge a seal forward, which seal movement causes a hypodermic needle to extend and a medicament to be expelled through the hypodermic needle. A retraction assembly returns the hypodermic needle into the syringe body after the medicament is expelled. Embodiments of retraction assembly provide an inlet through which fluid may be introduced into the syringe through said hypodermic needle. Methods for filling the syringe are also described.
Abstract: A vehicle handle assembly includes, among other things, an attachment bracket secured to a powered closure assembly of a vehicle, a handle core that is mounted to the attachment bracket, and a switch mounted to the handle core. The switch is configured to transition from a first state to a second state in response to a user grasping the handle core. The powered closure assembly can move between a first position and a different, second position in response to a transition of the switch.

Abstract: The present invention provides a unique and novel, low-cost external assembly that can be used to add a pulsed current functionality to a continuous welding machine. The external assembly is located in series between a pedal for controlling the welder and the welder itself. The external assembly includes a controller that modifies the pedal input signal typically entering directly into the welder. The modified signal converts the continuous welding machine such that it operates as a pulsed welding machine.
Abstract: A fluid design with enhanced proppant-carrying capacity utilizes a low-viscosity fluid with high proppant carrying capacity and low required power for injection into a hydrocarbon-bearing, subterranean formation. A preferred viscosifying agent that comprises a copolymer polymerized from an acrylic acid monomer and a monomer selected from: a) at least one carboxylic acid monomer; b) at least one C1 to C5 alkyl ester and/or at least one C1 to C5 hydroxyalkyl ester of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid; c) one crosslinking monomer; and optionally d) at least one ?,?-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, may be used to produce a fracturing fluid that has the pumpability of a slick water fluid and the proppant-carrying ability of a cross-linked gel. An optimization process to optimize hydraulic fracture design evaluates and quantifies the proppant-carrying capacity of the invented fluid and its impact in the proppant transport during fracturing.
