Patent number: 11210838Abstract: Various approaches described herein improve the quality of results when fusing depth maps to generate dynamic three-dimensional (ā3Dā) models, applying texture details to dynamic 3D models, or rendering views of textured, dynamic 3D models. For example, when fusing depth maps to generate a dynamic 3D model, a fusion component can also incorporate intrinsic color values for points of the dynamic 3D model, potentially making the dynamic 3D model more accurate, especially for areas in which depth values are not reliable or not available. As another example, when applying texture details, a rendering component can apply smoothed, viewpoint-dependent texture weights to texture values from different texture maps, which can reduce blurring and avoid the introduction of noticeable seams. As another example, a rendering component can apply special effects indicated by metadata to rendered views, thereby allowing a content provider to assert artistic control over presentation.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Ruofei Du, Benjamin F. Patent number: 11211055Abstract: Techniques are provided for building a dialog-state specific contextual language understanding system using subsumption logic. Information establishing conversational rules identifying the conversational dialog is received to present in respective dialog states. Each rule has a Boolean trigger expression of predicates for testing the conversational state together with logical connectives to identify when the rule is applicable. Subsumption logic is used to arrange the rules into a directed acyclic graph (DAG) where more specific rules are preferred to more general rules. During a conversation, the DAG is used to filter the triggered rules to only the most specific triggered rules from which a rule to run is selected. This structure makes it easier to build conversational systems because rules can be added or removed without having to change or reason over other rules. The rules also act as a constraint to help machine learned selection systems converge with less data.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventor: Christopher Clayton McConnell

Patent number: 11210501Abstract: In a system for video data capture and sharing client devices may include one or more video cameras and sensors to capture video data and to generate associated metadata. A cloud-based component may receive metadata from the client devices and requests for sharing video data captured by other client devices. The system can be used to implement a ridesharing method to connect a rider to a driver. Information about the driver and rider is accessed when a driver accepts a ridesharing request. Camera devices in the pickup area can detect the license plate of the driver's vehicle to confirm its arrival and a client device in the vehicle can facially recognize the driver at the wheel. Similarly, the location of the rider in the pickup area can be verified, for example through a face recognition scan.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: XIRGO TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Andrew Hodge, Nathan Ackerman, Jean-Paul Labrosse, Phillip Lucas Williams, Scott Lindsay Sullivan, Jason Matthew Alderman

Patent number: 11212758Abstract: One embodiment is directed to controlling a gain for a receive signal path for receiving wireless signals. The following are repeatedly performed: determining an estimate of the total noise and interference in a received signal and determining a gain value for the receive signal path based on the estimate of the total noise and interference in order to maintain the digital data at a digital set point for a signal-to-interference-plus-noise-ratio (SINR) decoded with a highest modulation and coding scheme specified for the wireless channel. Another embodiment is directed to determining a received signal strength of the signals received at the receive signal path and determining a gain value for the receive signal path based on the received signal strength that maintains the digital data at a digital set point for a SINR sufficient to decode the MCS specified for the wireless channel.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2017Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: CommScope Technologies LLCInventors: Gopikrishna Charipadi, Balaji B Raghothaman

Patent number: 11210825Abstract: A computing device generates a first set of glyphs from a first data set. Each glyph in the first set of glyphs represents the same set of user-selected columns in a first row of the plurality of rows in the data set. For each glyph in the first set of glyphs, the computing device defines a set of marks to be displayed. Each mark is defined by one or more visual features, with a respective visual feature assigned to each column of the user-selected columns. Each visual feature is displayed with a visual property determined based on a data value in the first row for the respective column. The computing device generates a second set of glyphs. Each glyph in the second set of glyphs represents a distinct respective row of data values for the user-selected columns in the data set.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2020Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: TABLEAU SOFTWARE, LLCInventors: Matthew Michael Brehmer, Carmen Paige Hull, Robert Kosara

Patent number: 11210631Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are presented that, in operation, generate a checklist from content in response to a checklist request from a user. More particularly, in response to the checklist request, a content type of the content identified by the checklist request is determined. The content is then analyzed, according to a determined content type, to identify a set of enumerative elements, the set of enumerative elements comprising at least two enumerative elements. Thereafter, for each enumerative element of the set of enumerative elements, a checklist item is generated, the checklist item corresponding to the enumerative element and including subject matter of the content corresponding to the enumerative element. Further, the generated checklist item is added as an item of the generated checklist. After iterating each enumerative element of the set of enumerative elements, the generated checklist is returned in response to the checklist request.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Dan Driscoll, Thomas Matthew Laird-McConnell, Andrea Ryuta Orimoto
