Abstract: The instant invention, in one aspect, provides a process for decontaminating water to remove contaminants, said process comprising passing contaminated water through a filter comprising a plurality of filtering elements capable of lowering the contaminants by at least 70%. In another aspect is provides a filtering unit comprising a plurality of filtering elements arranged in individual layers, said individual layers independently selected from brick chips, hemp fibers, mixture of hemp fibers and charcoal, agave, jute fibers, sand, filter paper, and gravel.

Abstract: A plate detection apparatus for a filter press comprises a base, a detection device having sensors configured to detect adjacent open plates of the filter press when open. The detection device is coupled to the base, is movable with respect to the base into and out of an extended state, and is resiliently biased to adopt the extended state. The detection device engages with the plates under resilient bias, which steadies the plates as well as enabling the detection device to accommodate variations in the plates, all of which facilitates their detection by the detection device.
Abstract: A powered fastener driver includes a driver blade movable from a top-dead-center (TDC) position toward a driven or bottom-dead-center (BDC) position for driving a fastener into a workpiece, a gas spring mechanism for driving the driver blade toward the BDC position, and a lifter assembly having a rotary lifter for returning the driver blade from the BDC position toward the TDC position. The powered fastener driver further includes an arm upon which the rotary lifter is supported, a motor which, in a first position of the rotary lifter, provides torque to the rotary lifter to return the driver blade from the BDC position toward the TDC position, and a brake mechanism including an electromagnet which, when activated, causes the rotary lifter to move from the first position toward a second position in which the rotary lifter is not engageable with the driver blade.

Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are provided for producing a product comprising a filter media, such as a gas or liquid filter. A system comprises a feeder for advancing a substrate comprising fibers from an upstream end to a downstream end and a dispersion device for dispersing nanoparticles into the substrate as the substrate is advanced by the feeder to form the filter media. The system further comprises a container for receiving clusters of nanoparticles and a feed system for conveying the clusters of nanoparticles from the container to the dispersion device. The feed system is particularly useful for introducing nanoparticles into a continuous manufacturing process at a controlled flow rate. The system both conveys and elevates the nanoparticles and allows for the manufacture of filter media with improved quality and yield and reduced cost and time. In addition, the system is scalable and produces filter media with less variation.

Abstract: Filter media comprising a waved filtration layer having a gradient in a property and associated methods are provided. The waved filtration layer may include fibers that form one or more fiber webs. In some embodiments, the diameter of the fibers may vary across at least a portion of the thickness of the waved filtration layer to produce a gradient in fiber diameter. The gradient may be designed to impart beneficial properties to the filter media, such as low pressure drop and long lifetime. In some embodiments, the gradient may be characterized by mathematical equations that describe the change in fiber diameter across at least a portion of the thickness of the waved filtration layer. The filter media, described herein, may be particularly well-suited for applications that involve filtering liquids, though the media may also be used in other applications.

Abstract: An oscillating power tool includes an outer housing having a head portion and a handle portion extending therefrom, an inner housing within the outer housing, a first annular gap between the inner housing and the head portion of the outer housing, and a motor and a drive mechanism having an output shaft that oscillates and defines an output axis. The output shaft extends through an opening in the head portion and defines a second annular gap between the output shaft and the outer housing. The oscillating power tool also includes an over-travel limit member in the first annular gap. In response to relative movement between the inner housing and the outer housing, the over-travel limit member prevents contact between them. The over-travel limit member limits lateral movement of the inner housing relative to the outer housing in a direction transverse to the output axis.

Abstract: A screw-less magnetic handle for an outdoor cutter is provided, relating to the technical field of cutter handle fixing technologies. A technical problem to be mainly solved is that it is difficult to replace and disassemble a cutter handle, for example, an existing screw fixing technology is prone to problems such as stripped screws and inconsistent screw specifications. Key points of a technical solution to this problem: 1. A magnetic force of internal magnets is used instead of a screw pressure for longitudinally locking handle parts. The magnetic force of a single handle part is 30 N to 150 N. 2. Lateral movement resistance provided by the screw to the handle part is replaced by a screw protrusion of an inner member and a corresponding close fit groove inside the handle part.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a mini pleat V cell filter assembly. The V cell filter assembly comprises a top panel, a bottom panel and a middle frame; all of which are manufactured in a single mold. The plastic meshes which are part of the single molded frame. Each wall of the V structure securely encloses the pleated filter for stronger burst resistance. The single molded mini pleat V cell filter assembly structure provides an higher burst strength estimated to withstand 10,000 Pascal or more of pressure.
Abstract: A support comprising a hollow, pyramid-shaped body having a top portion and a base, the body including a plurality of tapered walls which meet at corners, each of the plurality of walls including a notch formed in the top thereof; a plurality of posts projecting upwardly from the top of the body; and a receiving area defined by the posts, wherein the support creates a stable foundation and evenly distributes the weight of a load that applied to or placed within the receiving area. Abstract: The present invention relates to a toolbox lining. The toolbox lining is made of a metal material and has a mounting hole. The mounting hole has an inner edge connected to a plurality of retaining tabs, which are bent in the same direction at an angle not exceeding 90 degrees. The use of the retaining tabs with bending angles less than 90 degrees to fix replacement components for an operation head end of a hand tool in the mounting hole ensures the functionality of securely storing the replacement components in a toolbox without the need for plastic foam materials.

Abstract: A bond head having a bonding tool for bonding an electronic component includes a rotary motion mechanism and a linear positioning mechanism coupled to the rotary motion mechanism. The rotary motion mechanism is operative to rotate the bonding tool for adjusting an angular orientation of the electronic component held by the bonding tool. The rotary motion mechanism includes a rotary assembly operative to rotate the bonding tool about a first rotary axis and a flexural rotary table operative to rotate the bonding tool about respective second and third rotary axes, the first, second and third rotary axes being orthogonal to one another. The linear positioning mechanism is operative to drive the bonding tool to move parallel to the first rotary axis as well as a first plane that is parallel to a second plane on which the second and third rotary axes are located to adjust the position of the electronic component.

Abstract: Methods and systems of training neural networks with federated learning. A portion of a server-maintained machine learning (ML) model is sent from a server to clients, whereupon local ML models are trained with locally-stored data, including determining cross entropy loss for each local ML model. The updated weights are evaluated on a common data set to obtain activation outputs for each layer of the local ML model, which are transferred to the server whereupon they are permuted to match a dimension of the selected client to obtain a matrix, which is sent to the clients. At each client, the local ML model is permuted based on the matrix to obtain permuted weights which are transferred to the server and aggregated. The aggregated permuted weights are transferred to the clients so that the local ML models are updated with the aggregated permuted weights.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to an adsorption unit, having a frame, multiple spacer tubes and multiple adsorption granules. The frame has an inlet side and an exhaust side. The spacer tubes are arranged in the frame, and a plurality of through holes are provided on each of the spacer tubes. The adsorbed granules are arranged in the frame, and the adsorbed granules are restricted by the spacers and fixed in the frame so as to locate between the inlet side and the exhaust side. Air enters the adsorption unit from the environment through the inlet side, passes through the adsorption unit, and leaves the adsorption unit through the exhaust side. The air passes through the adsorption unit and returns to the environment so as to contact the adsorption granules to remove carbon dioxide and water.
