Abstract: A light-emitting device includes: a first electrode; a second electrode; m emission units between the first electrode and the second electrode; and m?1 charge generation layer(s), each located between two adjacent emission units, and including m?1 n-type charge generation layer(s) and m?1 p-type charge generation layer(s). The m emission units each include a hole transport region, an emission layer, and an electron transport region. A first hole transport region in a first emission unit closest to the first electrode may include a hole transfer layer and a hole injection layer and/or a hole transport layer. The hole transfer layer may be a single layer consisting of an electron-transporting compound including a phosphine oxide group (P?O), a phosphine sulfide group (P?S), a ? electron-deficient nitrogen-containing C1-C60 cyclic group, or any combination thereof. A highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy level of the hole transfer layer may be about ?6.0 eV to about ?5.3 eV.

Abstract: Technical problems and their solution are disclosed regarding the location of mobile devices requesting services near a site from a server. Embodiments adapt and/or configure the transmitting device near the site, the mobile device communicating with the transmitting device using a short haul wireless communications protocol to deliver a token based upon a key shared with the server but invisible to the mobile device. The server can determine the proximity of the mobile device to the site to control actuation of the requested service or disable the service request, and possibly flushing the service request from the server. Solutions are disclosed for traffic intersections involving one or more traffic lights, elevators in buildings, fire alarms in buildings and valet parking facilities.

Abstract: An expandable cage for placement between adjacent vertebrae having two or more upper and lower end plates having compound-angled slots, ramps or rails, and a drive means having corresponding compound-angled slots, ramps or rails configured to slidingly engage the compound-angled slots, ramps or rails of the two or more upper and lower end plates, wherein movement of the drive means in a first direction moves the two or more upper and lower end plates away from each other both vertically and horizontally to expand both a height and a width of the expandable cage from a collapsed state to an expanded state.
Abstract: A method for assisting game play. The method includes monitoring game play of the user playing a gaming application, wherein the user has a defined task to accomplish, wherein the task is associated with a task type. The method includes determining a task type proficiency rule for the task type based on results of a plurality of players taking on a plurality of tasks having the task type. The method includes determining a player proficiency score for accomplishing the task based on the task type proficiency rule. The method includes determining a user predictive rate of success in accomplishing the task based on the player proficiency score, the task type proficiency rule, and the task. The method includes determining a recommendation for the user based on the user predictive rate of success.

Abstract: A method and device is taught to improve the appearance of cellulite by combining mild exfoliation of the skin, various wavelengths of low level light, ultrasound, and a vacuum or suction. The device is intended to increase the metabolic rate of the fat cells and reduce their size, while increasing the extensibility or length of the septae. Such increased activity will promote blood flow to the affected area thereby increasing cell nutrients and removing cellular exudates while stimulating the growth of new collagen thereby alleviating the cellulite.
Abstract: A structural body including a plurality of convex-shaped rubber-elastic resonant portions, and a sheet-like support that supports the resonant portions. A specific gravity of the resonant portions is 1.0 g/cm3 or more and 3.0 g/cm3 or less, a height of the resonant portions is from 50 ?m to 100 mm, and an areal density of the support is 1.0 kg/m2 or less.
Abstract: One aspect of the invention provides a method for freeze-drying surfactant-stabilized microbubbles. The method includes: preparing vials comprising a mixture comprising microbubbles; partially submerging the vials in a chilled water bath, wherein the water bath has a sub-freezing temperature; placing the vials on a cooled shelf of a lyophilizer; freeze-drying the vials in the lyophilizer; and capping the freeze-dried vials. Another aspect of the invention provides a method for annealing surfactant-stabilized microbubbles. The method includes: preparing vials comprising a mixture comprising microbubbles; passing the vials in and out of liquid nitrogen (LN2) until the mixture is frozen; holding the vials at ?20° C.; placing the vials on a cooled shelf of a lyophilizer; freeze-drying the vials in the lyophilizer; and capping the freeze-dried vials.

Abstract: A mechanical ventilation system comprises a mechanical ventilator configured to deliver ventilation to a patient. An electronic controller is programmed to control the mechanical ventilator to perform a mechanical insufflation-exsufflation (MI-E) therapy method including performing a MI-E cycle including: (i) during an insufflation cycle, delivering pressure to the patient at a positive insufflation gauge pressure; (ii) during an exsufflation cycle following step (i), delivering pressure to the patient at a negative exsufflation gauge pressure and detecting whether an upper airway collapse occurs; and (iii) reducing a magnitude of the negative exsufflation gauge pressure if an upper airway collapse is detected in step (ii).

Abstract: A plug for wellbore tubing includes: an internal portion; a first external portion which surrounds the internal portion; and a second external portion disposed axially adjacent to the first external portion, with respect to a central longitudinal axis of the plug. The second external portion expands to: engage an interior surface of the wellbore tubing in response to a trigger as the plug displaces downhole through the wellbore tubing; and open a passage to permit a fluid to progress to the first external portion. The first external portion expands to engage the wellbore tubing in response to the expansion of the second external portion and upon contact with the fluid. A related method includes providing such a plug, and displacing the plug downhole in the wellbore tubing.
