Patents Assigned to Anderson & Middleton Company
  • Patent number: 5674593
Abstract: This invention provides a structural laminate which includes thin outer layers of cellulose polymer material sandwiched about a corrugated cardboard core, where flutes of the corrugated extend perpendicularly between the outer layers of cellulose polymer material. More specifically, the outer layers of the composite are relatively thin sheets of a delignified cellulose polymer material, and the core comprises conventional corrugated cardboard with at least some, and preferably all of the flutes oriented on edge, i.e., extending perpendicularly between the outer layers. A related method comprises the steps of:a) forming a stack of corrugated cardboard sheets to a predetermined height, the sheets adhesively secured, one to the other;b) cutting a plurality of strips of predetermined width from the stack;c) turning one or more of the strips 90.degree.

  • Patent number: 5670238
Abstract: A composite laminate member includes outer layers of a polymer cellulose material sandwiched about a core of corrugated cardboard, the core of corrugated cardboard having flutes running in a plane parallel to the outer layers. An exemplary embodiment includes a filter medium separator for use in air filter constructions including a composite laminate member comprising outer layers of a polymer cellulose material and a fire retardant additive sandwiched about a core of corrugated cardboard.

  • Patent number: 5361974
Abstract: A box construction includes an integral bottom panel, opposite side panels, opposite end panels and a pair of partial top panels, wherein the opposite end panels extend a full depth dimension of the box construction, and wherein each of the opposite end panels is provided with a minor flap portion at an upper end thereof. The minor flap portions are adapted to be folded to a substantially horizontal orientation such that the minor flap portions will be engaged by a respective ones of the partial top panels when the box is closed. A reinforcing end panel is adhered to interior sides of each of the opposite end panels, each reinforcing end panel having a pair of stacking projections extending from an upper edge of the reinforcing panel. Each reinforcing end panel is also formed with a pair of cut-outs along a lower edge thereof which cooperate with apertures in the bottom panel to provide stacking recesses adapted to receive stacking projections of an identical underlying box in a stacking arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5285915
Abstract: A grape or fruit box includes a pair of laterally spaced, rigid ends, to which is secured a wrap assembly of paper overlay laminated veneer, extending substantially about the sides and bottom of the box. The ends are each formed with a groove extending from the right to left side of the end, and relatively closely adjacent the upper edge of the end. The groove extends parallel to the upper side of the end, and the lower edge of the groove is chamfered or bevelled along its entire length. The box lid or cover pad comprises a relatively thin and flexible sheet of laminated veneer or heavyweight paper. To secure the cover pad to the box, one end of the lid may be inserted in one groove of one end, and the lid then bowed upwardly in its center area, so that the opposite end of the lid may be located below the groove in the opposite end. By then pulling upwardly on that opposite pad end, the latter will snap into the groove, facilitated by the lower, chamfered edge of the groove.
