Patents Assigned to Andritz Technology and Asset Management GmbH
  • Patent number: 7855344
Abstract: A reversing switch for use in a multi-phase electrical system, and in particular a three phase electrical system has a conductor for linking the input and output of one of the three phases. The reversing switch has two phase switches for reversing polarity. Each phase switch has a pair of stationary contacts and a moveable contact for reversing phase by switching between the stationary contacts. The moveable contacts of each phase switch are moveable in unison by a motor and associated transmission during switching of the reversing switch between first and second modes of operation of opposite polarity.

  • Patent number: 7770606
Abstract: An upper side for a multiple-layer sheet-forming fabric has a multiplicity of longitudinal threads woven with a multiplicity of transverse threads and thereby form repeats in the longitudinal and transverse directions. The transverse-thread repeat contains three times as many threads as the longitudinal-thread repeat. The longitudinal-thread repeat has at least three threads. The transverse-thread repeat has at least nine threads. All longitudinal threads run alternately over three transverse threads and under three transverse threads, and subsequently under the remaining transverse threads of a transverse thread repeat. Two directly adjacent longitudinal threads are displaced with respect to one another in the longitudinal direction by at least three transverse threads.

  • Publication number: 20090199990
Abstract: A device for feeding web material through a processing installation comprises a conveyor belt which has a first segment and a second segment. An opening roller and a guiding surface are adapted for unfolding the conveyor belt by means of separating the first and second segments. A spreader roll is adapted to keep the conveyor belt unfolded while a tail of said web material is placed on said first segment. A folding roll is adapted for folding said second segment over said first segment for to enclose the tail in the conveyor belt. The spreader roll comprises a first roll portion, a second roll portion and a circumferential guiding track separating the roll portions. The first roll portion, which is adapted for supporting said first segment, has a cylindrical outer surface.

  • Publication number: 20090165614
Abstract: A device for transferring a tail of a cellulose based fibrous web from a first unit to a second unit, the device includes: a separating member adapted to form a space between a first face of the tail and the first unit; a tail pick up pulley to be inserted in the space between the first face of the tail and the first unit, the tail pick up pulley moving the tail into a cutting position; a cutting device for cutting the tail at the cutting position, and a tail conveyor device for catching the tail cut at the cutting position and for forwarding the cut tail to the second unit.

  • Patent number: 6938359
Abstract: A web-formed material (1), preferably a pulp web (1), is passed through a drying plant, comprising blow boxes arranged in a plurality of drying decks, floating above lower blow boxes, which at their upper sides blow out hot process air against the web-formed material (1). Water, in the form of steam, escaping from the web-formed material (1) is discharged by the process air, at least part of which is recirculated (43) whereas the non-recirculated process air is discharged as exhaust air (41) and is replaced by a corresponding portion of supply air (42) with a low water content. The temperature of the process air is controlled (4).

  • Patent number: 6742280
Abstract: A method in consolidation and drying of paper. A wet web is contacted with superheated steam, whose temperature is 200-600° C. for the purpose of reducing, by heat transfer from the superheated stream, the water content of the web by evaporation of a substantial part of the water in the same. The wet web is supported and transported by means of a heat-conductive, gas-impermeable belt whose width is equal to or exceeds the width of the web, and jets of the superheated steam are directed towards the side of the web facing away from the belt.

  • Patent number: 6723206
Abstract: A method for threading a material web (3) through a processing plant (1). The material web (3) is divided, by a longitudinal cut, into a first narrow part (31) and a second broad part (32), the first part (31) being passed through the processing plant (1) while the second part (32) is separated. The width of the first part (31) is increased successively so that a growing share of the material web (3) is passed through the processing plant (1). Finally the entire width of the material web (3) is passed through the processing plant (1). The material web (3) is pulled through the processing plant (1) by a controllable force (tension). The magnitude of the controllable force is automatically adjusted to the width of the first part (31) of the material web (3), preferably in such manner that the magnitude of the force is selected proportional to the width of the first part (31).
