Patents Assigned to Angewandte Digital Elektronik GmbH
  • Patent number: 6098890
Abstract: A Method and device for recognizing card terminals which include a plurality of chip cards wherein each chip card includes a plurality of function components, recognizing circuit, and electronic circuitry with contactless connection. The card terminals differ from one another by emitting electromagnetic waves having different physical properties. When a chip card recognizes a particular terminal, a specific function component is activated according to the particular terminal.

  • Patent number: 5773812
Abstract: A chip card capable of selectively transmitting and receiving data via contact members or in a contactless manner (i.e., transmission coils). The chip card includes a contact block which represents and additional protection for the embedded integrated circuits and can also be used as a sensitive switching element for electronic purposes. In particular, based on the function as a switching element, the electronics can be switched on and off by the card user for purposes of the remote transmission. In addition, the contact block can be exchanged and thus assures also the contact card functions, in case the contacts are worn out.

  • Patent number: 5288979
Abstract: Electronic memory chips have been introduced into plastic cards, for example, credit, checking and/or personal data cards. A method for activating the memory chips makes it possible to issue the plastic cards for a specific use and to later expand the card use by activating the chip that had been inactive up to then and had no significance for the standard use of the cards. Protective measures are implemented in order to make use of the cards possible only for authorized persons. Cards issued or counterfeited by unauthorized persons may also be recognized and eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5206495
Abstract: A chip card capable of selectively transmitting data via contacts or transmission coils. The card includes a switching element device, preferably a multiplexer, coupled between a semiconductor device and contacts in a contact field and transmission coils. A voltage transmitted via the coils can be operative to automatically set the multiplexer for transmission via the coils.

  • Patent number: 4796028
Abstract: An apparatus for bidirectional data transmission includes a predominantly stationary part with a data line connected to cause a phase shift of an osicllator signal for transmission to a predominantly mobile part. AC signal components of the oscillator signal received by the mobile part are formed into square wave pulses and a difference between high and low states of the pulses is indicative of a phase shift. During the high and low states, positive signal edges of a second oscillation frequency are counted and compared to one another so that predetermined difference causes a status change on a data output line in the mobile part.

  • Patent number: 4698996
Abstract: A method for calibrating a device for non-contact position measurement wherein a movable part subject to positional identification is provided spatially proximate to a sensor carrier that includes a plurality of signal generators electrically and spatially separated from one another in order that the position of the moving part can be identified via voltage signals therefrom. To obtain an unequivocal characteristic of the positional voltage distribution, only defined signals such as a zero value signal or other characteristic value, have length values signed to them and neighboring voltage values are coemployed to obtain an unequivocal position identification.

  • Patent number: 4652821
Abstract: Given a device for contact-free position measurement, a movable or resting part that represents a load in an alternating field or that is designed as an element emitting field lines is spatially neighbored by a sensor carrier that exhibits a plurality of individual sensors that are electrically and spatially separated from one another, whereby each of said individual sensors can be applied to direct or alternating voltage, and whereby an interrogation and evaluation means is provided, to which each of the individual sensors is connectable for the purpose of identifying its output signal that is dependent on the position of the positionally variable or resting position indicator.

  • Patent number: 4602253
Abstract: An apparatus for mutual information transmission between an electronic lock and a key uses antenna coils at both the key and lock. A periodic signal is emitted from the lock and is received by the key upon activation of a key electronics and emission of a coded information signal. This returned signal received from the lock coil is briefly short-circuited or damped at the key side in order to produce a synchronization switch synchronizing the points in time of the signal appearance. Electronic converters are provided which, given the pre-condition that the short-circuit signal extends over a plurality of signal pulses, generate a digital signal corresponding to the short-circuit times.

  • Patent number: 4549176
Abstract: Device for identifying an information, particularly of an access control consisting of electronic lock and key part, wherein given approach of the key part toward the lock part, its oscillator part oscillates at a high frequency, the oscillation is picked up by the key part and, modulated with a frequency or pulse pattern serving as a key identifier, is transmitted back to the lock part and is further processed by the reception and recognition means at the lock side. The reciprocating transmission of the energy between the lock and key part is carried out by a wave coupling by means of antenna coils whereby an inductively coupled synchronization switch is produced in that an altered signal curve is produced at a first coil at the lock side, being produced, for example, by means of a more or less complete short at a second coil at the key side or by means of impressing energy on the second coil.
