    Abstract: Sunflower plants having increased resistance to herbicides relative to wild-type sunflower plants are provided. These plants contain a new genetic mutation in the AHAS gene which confers broad-spectrum resistance to AHAS-inhibiting herbicide. An herbicide-tolerant sunflower crop production system and new and powerful weed control option for sunflower growers are provided.
