Abstract: A method for applying a strategy to a dataset in a data mining system to address a business problem, comprising: receiving at least one conditional expression defining the strategy from a user through a graphical user interface (“GUI”) displayed on a display screen of the data mining system; applying the conditional expression to the dataset to split the dataset into segments; displaying the segments as nodes in a tree structure on the display screen; receiving a calculation expression for operating on one or more values in one or more of the segments; applying the calculation expression to one or more of the segments to generate one or more respective calculated values; displaying the one or more calculated values in respective nodes of the tree structure; receiving a treatment expression for operating on the calculated values; applying the treatment expression to one or more of the calculated values to generate respective responses to the business problem; and, displaying the responses in respective nodes o
Abstract: A method in a server coupled to at least one client for modifying a data mining model for display to a user of the client, the data mining model maintained by the server, the method comprising: receiving a request message from the client to modify the data mining model; generating change definitions from the request message to modify the data mining model; storing the change definitions in a document; and, transmitting the document to the client, the client being adapted to generate a modified data mining model for display to the user from the change definitions.

Abstract: A method for delivering presentations associated with data mining models. The method includes the steps of: a) storing the data mining models and the presentations in a repository in a data mining system; b) associating ones of the data mining models with ones of the presentations through references within ones of the presentations; c) receiving a request from a user for a presentation; d) processing the request to determine an appropriate presentation corresponding to the request; the request including a customer identification; the request including an event identification; and, e) delivering the appropriate presentation to the user.
