    Abstract: A convertible article of furniture presenting a sofa in one arrangement and a bed in the other. Both sides and the back of the furniture flare out horizontally to form a ledge useful for supporting objects. A retractable bottom member is slidably withdrawable from the sofa to projectably form, in conjuction with that sofa, a bed of increased width. An enclosed storage area is formed between the vertical back of the furniture and a back cushion member.
