  • Patent number: 6816715
Abstract: A wideband receiver (10) comprises a frequency converter (16) for converting the frequency of a signal inputted through an antenna (12) by using a local oscillation signal from a local oscillator (18); a wideband filter (20) for receiving the output of the frequency converter (16) and passing a signal component corresponding to the scanning band including the bands of channels; an A/D converter (22) for converting the output of the wideband filter (20) into a digital signal; an FFT operational circuit (24) for receiving the digital signal and subjecting it to high-speed Fourier transformation; and a control circuit (26) for detecting the channel in communication in a predetermined scanning band on the basis of the results of operation of the FFT operational circuit. The control circuit (26) repeats the change of the scanning band by changing the frequency of the local oscillation signal, to detect the channel in communication with an assigned frequency range, i.e., a search frequency range.

  • Patent number: 6002924
Abstract: A full-spectrum, multi-mode radio receiver provides truly continuous coverage of reception of radio signals in a variety of modes or formats, and in a frequency range extending from about 10 kHz to about 2600 MHz. That is, there or no frequencies or frequency bands within which reception is not possible or is possible only with a reduced performance of the radio receiver, because of spurs, inter-modulation products, or images. The radio receiver provides this broad-spectrum, continuous coverage of reception, and does so with a receiver front-end tuning selectivity to as little as 1 Hz.
