    Abstract: A method for association of anonymous reflectors (R1-R11) to detected angle positions, whereby a) the anonymous reflectors are arranged in positions in a transport area; b) positions of the reflectors (R1-R11) are stored in first memory means (20); c) a beam (B) is emitted from an emission source (13) of a vehicle (10) over a search sector; d) reflected signals from reflecting objects are received on board the vehicle (10); e) an angle position towards reflecting objects in relation to a reference direction (D) of the vehicle (10) is continuously detected by detector means (18) during the sweep of the beam over the search sector, and corresponding angle values are determined; f) at least one angle value determined over the search sector is stored in a second memory means (21). The distances between reflectors (R1-R11) are a reference point on the vehicle (10) is determined continuously by a control means (19).

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for determining the positions of fixed reference objects for use in controlling the movement of mobile surface transportation units over a surface. The method includes detecting bearings from a measuring point on a mobile apparatus to the reference objects at predetermined times associated with movement of the mobile apparatus over the surface, storing the bearings along with the predetermined time associated therewith, and continuously computing the position of the reference objects and the degree of uncertainty associated with those positions from the bearings whereby the degree of uncertainty is reduced as the mobile apparatus moves over the surface.

    Abstract: A method and a system for controlling an AGV for route selection upon transfer between different spaces within which the AGV is movable. The spaces are not fixedly related to each other with reference to their relative positions and are restricted from each other by the inclusion of area boarder lines. When an AGV is present within a first of the spaces, it detects for the purpose of transfer of the spaces, the relative position of the space by two reference instruments belonging to the second space. Each of the reference instruments is fixedly related to the present space. The AGV will move over the area border lines between the two spaces selecting route depending on calculating relative position.
