Patent number: 10868243Abstract: Co-fired integrated circuit devices and methods for fabricating and integrating such on a workpiece are disclosed herein. An exemplary method includes forming a first passive device and a second passive device over a carrier substrate. The first passive device and the second passive device each include at least one material layer that includes a co-fired ceramic material. The carrier substrate is removed after performing a co-firing process to cause chemical changes in the co-fired ceramic material. The first passive device may include a conductive loop disposed between a first magnetic layer and a second magnetic layer. The first magnetic layer, the second magnetic layer, or both includes a co-fired ceramic magnetic material. The second passive device may include a first conductive layer and a second conductive layer separated by a dielectric layer. The first conductive layer, the second conductive layer, or both includes a co-fired ceramic conductive material.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2019Date of Patent: December 15, 2020Assignees: TAIWAN SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING COMPANY, LTD., APPLEInventors: Alexander Kalnitsky, Shawn Searles, David Cappabianca

Patent number: 10062838Abstract: A variety of integrated circuit devices and a method for their formation and integration are provided. The integrated circuit devices may include inductors, capacitors, and/or other passive devices. In an exemplary embodiment, a first substrate is received and a conductive material is applied to the first substrate such that a loop of the conductive material is formed on the first substrate. A magnetic material is applied to the first substrate and surrounds at least a portion of the loop. A thermal process is performed on the first substrate having the conductive material and the magnetic material applied thereupon. The conductive material is bonded to a second substrate, and thereafter, the conductive material and the magnetic material are separated from the first substrate.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2015Date of Patent: August 28, 2018Assignees: TAIWAN SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING COMPANY, LTD., APPLEInventors: Alexander Kalnitsky, Shawn Searles, David Cappabianca

Patent number: 9830047Abstract: Asset data streams are provided that facilitate the display of large numbers of media assets. Encoded asset data streams provide approximated aspect ratio information for media assets to be used in determining a position for each media asset in a dataset, thus being able to position all of the media assets in a media asset arrangement prior to being scrolled into view by the user. By communicating aspect ratio approximations as part of an encoded asset data stream of data to a web application, a user is able to scroll to any part of a dataset (e.g., a photo library) when presented in the web application without having to wait on the receipt of information for all media assets. Encoded asset data streams may further include asset identification offsets that indicate a sequential ordering of the individual assets in a dataset.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2015Date of Patent: November 28, 2017Assignee: APPLEInventors: Brian E. Patent number: 9137024Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for verifying a digital object obtained from a remote host. A system configured to practice the method downloads a first object from a first remote source and presents the user with a first request to allow access to the first object. Upon user approval, a multitude of characteristics associated with the object are stored to facilitate future uses of the object. When a second object is downloaded from a second remote source, the system checks the database for a stored user approval. Access to the second object is allowed if the multitude of characteristics associated with the first and second objects match. If the system does not find a match, the user is presented with a second request to allow access to the object.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2010Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: AppleInventors: Michael Alan Swingler, Thomas John O'Brien

Patent number: 5996057Abstract: The data processing system of the present invention loads three input operands, including two input vectors and a control vector, into vector registers and performs a permutation of the two input vectors as specified by the control vector, and further stores the result of the operation as the output operand in an output register. The control vector consists of sixteen indices, each uniquely identifying a single byte of input data in either of the input registers, and can be specified in the operational code or be the result of a computation previously performed within the vector registers. The specification of the control vector allows a vector-matrix operation to be performed on the input vectors by rearranging or replicating the input operand bytes in the bytes of the output register as a function of the control vector.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1998Date of Patent: November 30, 1999Assignees: Apple, IBM, Motorola Inc.Inventors: Hunter Ledbetter Scales, III, Keith Everett Diefendorff, Brett Olsson, Pradeep Kumar Dubey, Ronald Ray Hochsprung
