  • Patent number: 11831178
Abstract: A wireless power system has a wireless power transmitting device and a wireless power receiving device. The wireless power transmitting device uses a wireless power transmitting coil to transmit wireless power signals to the wireless power receiving device. The wireless power transmitting device determines whether an external object is present. The external object may be a foreign object such as a coin or paperclip or may be a wireless power receiving device. External objects are detected using quality-factor measurements. Wireless communications are used to discriminate between foreign objects and wireless power receiving devices. Quality factor measurements may be compensated for aging and temperature effects using temperature measurements and compensation factors based on frequency and measured resistance.

  • Patent number: 11828871
Abstract: An electronic device may include radar circuitry. Control circuitry may calibrate the radar circuitry using a multi-tone calibration signal. A first mixer may upconvert the calibration signal for transmission by a transmit antenna. A de-chirp mixer may mix the calibration signal output by the first mixer with the calibration signal as received by a receive antenna or loopback path to produce a baseband multi-tone calibration signal. The baseband signal will be offset from DC by the frequency gap. This may prevent DC noise or other system effects from interfering with the calibration signal. The control circuitry may sweep the first mixer over the radio frequencies of operation of the radar circuitry to estimate the power droop and phase shift of the radar circuitry based on baseband calibration signal. Distortion circuitry may distort transmit signals used in spatial ranging operations to invert the estimated power droop and phase shift.

  • Patent number: 11829578
Abstract: An electronic device has multiple audio output elements at distinct locations along a periphery of the electronic device. In response to detecting an input directed to a user interface object: if the first input meets predefined criteria and the user interface object is located closer to a first audio output element than to a second audio output element, the device generates a first audio output that corresponds to the first input, wherein the first audio output has a greater amplitude at the first audio output element than at the second audio output element. If the user interface object is located closer to the second audio output element than to the first audio output element, the device generates a second audio output that corresponds to the first input, wherein the second audio output has a greater amplitude at the second audio output element than at the first audio output element.

  • Patent number: 11829763
Abstract: A system and method for efficiently reducing the latency of load operations. In various embodiments, logic of a processor accesses a prediction table after fetching instructions. For a prediction table hit, the logic executes a load instruction with a retrieved predicted address from the prediction table. For a prediction table miss, when the logic determines the address of the load instruction and hits in a learning table, the logic updates a level of confidence indication to indicate a higher level of confidence when a stored address matches the determined address. When the logic determines the level of confidence indication stored in a given table entry of the learning table meets a threshold, the logic allocates, in the prediction table, information stored in the given entry. Therefore, the predicted address is available during the next lookup of the prediction table.

  • Patent number: 11832182
Abstract: A cellular wakeup receiver (C-WuRx) for reducing power consumption of a wireless wide area network (WWAN) radio of a user equipment (UE) includes receiver circuitry to receive a wakeup signal from a base station in response to the UE performing link aggregation by which downlink communications from the base station are offloaded to a wireless local area network (WLAN). The C-WuRx also includes processing circuitry to configure the receiver circuitry to periodically monitor at least a portion of a WWAN band for the wakeup signal and process the wakeup signal to cause the WWAN radio to resume receiving the downlink communications from the base station.

  • Publication number: 20230379564
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for biometric authentication in which two or more biometric features or aspects are captured and analyzed individually or in combination to identify and authenticate a person. An imaging system captures images of a person's iris, eye, periorbital region, and/or other regions of the person's face, and two or more features from the captured images are analyzed individually or in combination to identify and authenticate the person and/or to detect attempts to spoof the biometric authentication. Embodiments may improve the performance of biometric authentication systems, and may help to reduce false positives and false negatives by the biometric authentication algorithms.

  • Publication number: 20230379655
Abstract: Certain embodiments are directed to techniques (e.g., a device, a method, a memory or non-transitory computer readable medium storing code or instructions executable by one or more processors) for passive beacon communication techniques. Transmitting devices (e.g., beacons) can transmit advertising messages using a first wireless protocol to provide timing for ranging messages for one of more ranging messages over a second protocol (e.g., UWB). One or more receiving devices can determine using signal strength if the devices are within a threshold range to perform communication techniques. Various ranging communications techniques can be used to determine a range between the receiving device and transmitting device. Other techniques can be used to passively calculate the angle of arrival for transmitter signals. The angle of arrival information can be used for precise position locating for the receiving device or to indicate interest in information provided by the one or more transmitting devices.
