Abstract: An approach is described for a method for a base station in a fifth generation (5G) wireless communication or a new radio (NR) system that includes the following steps. The method includes determining base initial seeds and a time parameter. The method further includes generating actual initial seeds based on the base initial seeds and the time parameter; generating a Pseudo-Noise (PN) sequence based on one of the actual initial seeds; and generating a remote interference management reference signal (RIM-RS) sequence based on the PN sequence. The method further includes transmitting the RIM-RS sequence to a remote base station.

Abstract: An electronic device may have a display. The display may have light-emitting diode pixels or other pixels. Due to aging-induced degradation of the pixels, the output intensity and color of the pixels may vary over the lifetime of the display. Control circuitry in the device may use an ambient light sensor to measure ambient light and stray display light. The display light measurements may be used in monitoring aging effects so that the control circuitry can compensate for aging-induced pixel degradation. Display light measurements may be made over a sequence of image frames. The image frames in the sequence of frames may include white and black frames or frames of different colors interleaved with black frames. Different frame intensities may be used during measurements of stray display light to gather gamma curves for the display.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for setting up, in one embodiment, a generic streaming media device as a set-top box for a multichannel content provider that provides a content delivery service. The set up process can be performed automatically and as background operations while a user manually sets up the device, in foreground operations, for use with an online streaming media store or source of content. The set up process can use a device token that was previously associated with the multichannel content provider for use with the device during the set up process. The device token can be stored by the developer of the device and sent by the developer to the multichannel content provider during a set up process of the device; the device token can be opaque to the developer but provides information used by the multichannel content provider to set up the device as a set top box.

Abstract: A voice activated device for interaction with a digital assistant is provided. The device comprises a housing, one or more processors, and memory, the memory coupled to the one or more processors and comprising instructions for automatically identifying and connecting to a digital assistant server. The device further comprises a power supply, a wireless network module, and a human-machine interface. The human-machine interface consists essentially of: at least one speaker, at least one microphone, an ADC coupled to the microphone, a DAC coupled to the at least one speaker, and zero or more additional components selected from the set consisting of: a touch-sensitive surface, one or more cameras, and one or more LEDs. The device is configured to act as an interface for speech communications between the user and a digital assistant of the user on the digital assistant server.
Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with wireless circuitry. The wireless circuitry may include one or more antennas. The antennas may include millimeter wave antenna arrays. Non-millimeter-wave antennas such as cellular telephone antennas may have conductive structures separated by a dielectric gap. In a device with a metal housing, a plastic-filled slot may form the dielectric gap. The conductive structures may be slot antenna structures, inverted-F antenna structures such as an inverted-F antenna resonating element and a ground, or other antenna structures. The plastic-filled slot may serve as a millimeter wave antenna window. A millimeter wave antenna array may be mounted in alignment with the millimeter wave antenna window to transmit and receive signals through the window. Millimeter wave antenna windows may also be formed from air-filled openings in a metal housing such as audio port openings.

Abstract: Wireless power transfer devices may be configured to negotiate with each other to operate. For example, a wireless power standard may provide for various levels of power delivery, various frequencies for power transfer, various operating voltages, and so forth. There may be instances in which it is desirable to provide wireless power transfer devices (both PTx and PRx) that are capable of enhanced performance when paired with a compatible device. For example, devices can be configured to operate at higher or more granular power levels, different frequencies, and so forth.

Abstract: In some embodiments, an electronic device receives, via one or more input devices, an input corresponding to a request to search content available on the electronic device, wherein the input includes one or more search terms. In some embodiments in response receiving the input corresponding to the request to search content available on the electronic device, an electronic device displays, via a display device, one or more representations of one or more search results including a first representation of a first search result, wherein the first search result is a first content item that is associated with a first transcript of dialog included in the first content item, and the first search result is included in the one or more search results as a result of a relationship between the one or more search terms and the first transcript for the first content item.
Abstract: A mobile device can include ranging circuitry to determine distance to another mobile device. A first wireless protocol can establish an initial communication session to perform authentication and/or exchange ranging settings. One mobile device acting as a beacon device can define a ranging round including an initial timeslot and a plurality of non-overlapping response slots for discovering and performing ranging with any mobile device in a vicinity of the beacon. The beacon can broadcast a ranging request including a beacon device identifier at a request time. A first mobile device can transmit a first acknowledgement message during a first response slot. A second mobile device can transmit a second acknowledgement message during a second response slot. The beacon device can calculate a first distance from the first mobile device and a second distance from the second mobile device based at least upon information in the first and second acknowledgement messages.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for controlling the derivation of QoS rules in the UE by flexibly defining the scope of packet header fields over which packet filter derivation is performed. The scope of packet header fields for derivation of QoS rules may be provided by the network to the UE upon PDU Session establishment or modification. For PDU Session of IP type, the network indicates to the UE whether the scope of RQoS includes both the Source/Destination IP address pair and the Source/Destination Port numbers, or only the former. For PDU Session of Ethernet type, the network indicates to the UE whether the scope of RQoS includes both the Source/Destination MAC address pair and the IEEE 802.1Q tag, or only the former. The UE may indicate to the network whether it supports the flexible scope of packet filters for RQoS for a PDU session.
