Abstract: A scrambling sequence generation method is disclosed for reference signals, data, and downlink and uplink control channels. The scrambling sequence generation method determines an initial seed value used to calculate the scrambling sequence. The initial seed value is based on different parameters relating to the to be transmitted signals, and some of these parameters are explicitly defined for New Radio.

Abstract: A system may include multiple electronic devices. A first device such as a source electronic device may supply visual content for displaying by a display in a second electronic device such as a display electronic device. The display electronic device may be a television or other device with a display. Calibration operations may be performed by taking light measurements on light produced by the display when test content is provided from the first device to the second device. A third electronic device in the system such as a portable electronic device with an ambient light sensor may make measurement on the light from the display while the test content is being displayed. The test content may contain a test image target with time-varying color and time-varying intensity, allowing calibration information such as gamma curves to be obtained on the display.

Abstract: This is directed to connecting two or more elements using an intermediate element constructed from a material that changes between states. An electronic device can include one or more components constructed by connecting several elements. To provide a connection having a reduced or small size or cross-section and construct a component having high tolerances, a material can be provided in a first state in which it flows between the elements before changing to a second state in which it adheres to the elements and provides a structurally sound connection. For example, a plastic can be molded between the elements. As another example, a composite material can be brazed between the elements. In some cases, internal surfaces of the elements can include one or more features for enhancing a bond between the elements and the material providing the interface between the elements.

Abstract: Fabric may include one or more conductive strands. An insertion tool may insert an electrical component into the fabric during formation of the fabric. The electrical component may include an electrical device mounted to a substrate and encapsulated by a protective structure. An interconnect structure such as a metal via or printed circuit layers may pass through an opening in the protective structure and may be used to couple a conductive strand to a contact pad on the substrate. The protective structure may be transparent or may include an opening so that light can be detected by or emitted from an optical device on the substrate. The protective structure may be formed using a molding tool that provides the protective structure with grooves or may be molded around a hollow conductive structure to create grooves. An electrical component mounted to the fabric may be embedded within printed circuit layers.

Abstract: An optical sensor can be multiplexed for different clients/features including estimating information or characteristics of a user's physiological signals. Additionally, the clients/features can include estimating information or characteristics independent from a user's physiological signals. As the number of clients increase and/or as the requirements for the clients increase, flexibility can be provided to accommodate the various clients. Parallelization of the optical sensor can be used to improve performance as the number of clients increase. For example, the hardware and software architecture can assemble patterns of time slots that measure all desired light paths for the multiple clients and distribute the corresponding measurements to each client according to the client requests. In some examples, the scanning sequence can be represented by frames including slots associated with multiple clients to compress the representation for larger or more complex scan sequences.

In some embodiments, this engine includes a machine-learning engine that facilitates the formulation of predicted future destinations and/or future routes to destinations based on stored, user-specific data. The user-specific data is different in different embodiments. In some embodiments, the stored, user-specific data includes data about any combination of the following: (1) previous destinations traveled to by the user, (2) previous routes taken by the user, (3) locations of calendared events in the user’s calendar, (4) locations of events for which the user has electronic tickets, and (5) addresses parsed from recent e-mails and/or messages sent to the user.

Abstract: A system comprises an encoder configured to compress and encode data for a three-dimensional mesh using a video encoding technique. To compress the three-dimensional mesh, the encoder determines sub-meshes and for each sub-mesh: texture patches and geometry patches. Also the encoder determines patch connectivity information and patch texture coordinates for the texture patches and geometry patches. The texture patches and geometry patches are packed into video image frames and encoded using a video codec. Additionally, the encoder determines boundary stitching information for the sub-meshes. A decoder receives a bit stream as generated by the encoder and reconstructs the three-dimensional mesh.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for configuring full power transmission modes in a UE. The disclosed full power transmission modes include a Mode 0 and a Mode 3, which are enhancements over previous modes disclosed in the 3GPP specification. The UE gathers supported modes and configuration capabilities, such as number of ports and supported coherency schemes, and forwards the configuration capabilities to the network. The network analyzes the received information and selects a supported full power transmission mode based on the UE capabilities. The selection is then transmitted to the UE in a PUSCH-Config message. The UE extracts the selection from the PUSCH-Config message, and configures its radio accordingly.
