  • Patent number: 11191025
Abstract: A user equipment device (UE) may implement improved communication methods which include radio resource time multiplexing, dynamic sub-frame allocation, and UE transmit duty cycle control. The UE may communicate with base stations using radio frames that include multiple sub-frames, transmit information regarding allocation of a portion of the sub-frames of a respective radio frame for each of a plurality of the radio frames, and transmit and receive data using allocated sub-frames and not using unallocated sub-frames. Additionally, the UE may operate according to a sub-frame allocation based on its current power state. The UE may transmit information to the base station and receive the sub-frame allocation based on at least the information and switch transmit duty cycles based on an occurrence of a condition at the UE. The UE may inform the network of the switch.

  • Patent number: 11188624
Abstract: A first electronic device is configured to operate in a restricted mode of operation, which restricted mode may be terminated or continued by one or more remotely located authorization devices, according to predetermined criteria. In a restricted mode, a first set of permitted applications stored on the first electronic device are executable, and a first set of data is accessible. While operating in the restricted mode, the first device detects a termination condition of the restricted mode and transmits an indication of the termination condition to one or more authorization devices. After transmitting the request, the first electronic devices receives an indication that the restricted mode of the operation has been continued according to predetermined criteria. Responsive to receiving the indication, the first electronic device continues to operate in the restricted mode according to the predetermined criteria.

  • Patent number: 11190586
Abstract: A messaging system uses a cloud storage backup system for messages and a temporary storage for messages that are not deliverable to offline devices at the time that the messages are sent by one or more messaging servers. The messages are backed up through a synchronization process that transfers a batch of a plurality of messages rather than a single message or an entire database of messages. A conversation state can be synchronized first before synchronizing messages through the transfer of one or more batches of messages.

  • Patent number: 11190989
Abstract: A Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The gNB is configurable to operate as a source gNB. The gNB is configured with logical nodes including a gNB central unit (gNB-CU) and a gNB distributed unit (gNB-DU). The gNB-CU comprises a gNB-CU control plane (gNB-CU-CP) for control-plane functionality, and a gNB-CU user plane (gNB-CU-UP) for user-plane functionality. When a handover of a User Equipment (UE) from the source gNB to a target gNB is performed, the gNB transfers, from the gNB-DU to the gNB-CU-UP, a downlink data delivery status (DDDS) message to indicate that the gNB-CU-UP is to stop transfer, to the gNB-DU, of downlink data intended for the UE.

  • Patent number: 11190971
Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment (UE) device to adaptively provide enhanced the quality of service (QoS) for an application. The UE may request a dedicated bearer or flow for communications conducted over a network between a UE application and a server associated with the application. The UE may use various information, including a QoS profile associated with the application, to determine requested QoS parameters and/or determine whether to provide the enhanced QoS functionality, e.g., whether to request the dedicated bearer/flow from the network. These techniques may tend to provide more appropriate QoS to the application, which may improve user experience.

  • Patent number: 11189202
Abstract: A system may include an electronic display panel having multiple pixels for depicting image data and processing circuitry that may receive a first error value representative of a first difference between a first electrical signal measured at a first pixel of the multiple pixels and an expected electrical signal for the first pixel. The first electrical signal may be based on a test signal transmitted to the first pixel and the expected electrical signal may correspond to an expected response of the first pixel based on the test signal. The processing circuitry may filter the first error value to generate a first compensated error value and may filter the first error value based on the first compensated error value to generate a second compensated error value, where the second compensated error value may filter one or more effects of spatial crosstalk between one or more pixels near the first pixel.

  • Patent number: 11190330
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) and network entity implement improved communication methods which enable a UE to operate using differing modes of operation without detaching from a network. The UE may send first information indicating its capabilities to the network entity and may receive a first indication based on the first information. The first indication may indicate that the UE operate according to a first mode of operation. The UE may receive a second indication based on an occurrence of a first condition detectable at the network entity. The second indication may indicate that the UE operate according to a second mode of operation different from the first mode of operation. The first condition may be an initialization of a real time data packet session for the UE or may be a first message sent by the UE in response to one or more radio conditions exceeding a threshold.

  • Patent number: 11188527
Abstract: A term base can be used to index a raw term (e.g., a text string from an electronic health record) to generate a computational expression of the raw term. As part of doing so, portions of the raw term including personally identifying information can be removed and/or replaced with de-identified information. The computational expression of the raw term can be used to generate a version of the raw term that is devoid of the personally identifying information.

  • Patent number: 11190864
Abstract: A head-mountable device can include a speaker unit that provides structural support to its own components and electrical connections between other components. The arrangement of conductive strips within a back plate of a speaker unit can provide the structural support needed by the components of a speaker while allowing components on opposing sides of the speaker unit to be operably connected to each other. By providing both functions with the conductive strips of a back plate, the total space required is minimized so that the head-securement element (e.g., band) of the head-mountable device maintains a thin profile.
