  • Patent number: 11137596
Abstract: A head-mountable device can include an optical module that provides a display element and/or an optical element that are adjustably mounted. The display element and/or another optical element can be adjusted by actuation of a mechanism that allows the display element and/or the optical element to move in one or more (e.g., six) degrees of freedom (roll, pitch, and yaw). The actuation allows for the position of the display element to be adjusted relative to the optical element to correct for any displacements caused during operation of the head-mountable device. One or more sensors within the optical module or external to the optical module and/or the head-mountable device can detect the position of the display at an initial state as well as thereafter. The sensors can check for changes in the position of the components to provide a basis for the actuation.

  • Patent number: 11140616
Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to adaptively manage system information, particularly on-demand system information. A UE may receive mandatory system information from a wireless network and may determine that at least some additional, e.g., on-demand, system information would be beneficial. The UE may evaluate whether a condition is met to request the additional system information and may initiate a random access procedure to request the additional system information. If the random access procedure fails, the UE may adjust its behavior, including reselection behavior, in response to lacking the additional system information.

  • Patent number: 11139932
Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to perform adaptive time division duplexing (TDD) hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-ACKnowledgement (ACK) reporting is described. The UE can implement an adaptive uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configuration received from an eNodeB. The UE can decode a downlink (DL) HARQ reference configuration received from the base station for a serving cell, wherein the DL HARQ reference configuration is for the implemented adaptive UL-DL configuration. The UE can decode a reference UL-DL configuration received from the base station via a system information block (SIB). The UE can encode HARQ-ACK feedback for transmission on an uplink channel of the serving cell in accordance with the DL HARQ reference configuration. • Patent number: 11136672
Abstract: An electronic device such as a wristwatch may include a conductive housing. A corrosion-resistant coating may be deposited on the conductive housing. The coating may include transition layers and an uppermost alloy layer. The transition layers may include a chromium seed layer on the conductive housing and a chromium nitride layer on the chromium seed layer. The uppermost alloy layer may include TiCrCN or other alloys and may provide the coating with desired optical reflection and absorption characteristics. The transition layers may include a minimal number of coating defects, thereby eliminating potential sites at which visible defects could form when exposed to salt water. This may allow the electronic device to exhibit a desired color and to be submerged in salt water without producing undesirable visible defects on the conductive housing structures.

  • Patent number: 11138709
Abstract: Embodiments relate to fusion processing between two images captured with two different exposure times to generate a fused image with a higher dynamic range. An unscaled single color version of a first image is blended with another unscaled single color version of a second image to generate an unscaled single color version of the fused image. A downscaled multi-color version of the first image is blended with a downscaled multi-color version of the second image to generate a downscaled multi-color version of the fused image of a plurality of downscaled versions of the fused image. A first downscaled multi-color version of the fused image is generated by upscaling and accumulating the plurality of downscaled versions of the fused image. The first downscaled multi-color version of the fused image has a pixel resolution lower than a pixel resolution of the unscaled single color version of the fused image.

  • Patent number: 11137851
Abstract: A luminescence shock avoidance algorithm selectively limits the brightness level of a display device when the display device is activated in a dark environment to prevent the temporary vision impairment that can occur when a display device is activated in a dark environment. The algorithm receives the state of the display (e.g. on or in standby mode), and can optionally receive an ambient lighting value from an ambient light sensor and a user-selectable manual brightness adjustment setting to determine whether luminescence shock avoidance should even be triggered, and if it is triggered, how much should the brightness level of the display be limited.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and techniques are described for determining inter-radio access technology (inter-RAT) coverage for energy saving management (ESM). In some embodiments, a network management (NM) apparatus may determine that a source cell of a network of a first RAT is triggered to activate an energy saving state and that the source cell is partially overlapped by each of a plurality of cells of one or more networks of one or more RATs different from the first RAT. The NM apparatus may instruct the source cell to activate the energy saving state when a combination of the plurality of cells provides coverage of the source cell. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 11139817
Abstract: A computer system may periodically calibrate an oscillator subsystem, which includes a voltage-controlled oscillator circuit configured to generate an oscillator signal using code signal. In response to activation of a calibration mode, an iterative calibration operation may be performed on the voltage-controlled oscillator circuit. In some cases, performing a given iteration of the calibration operation includes determining a value of the code signal using a number of pulses in the oscillator signal sampled during a particular time period, along with previous values of the code signal and a slope of an error function associated with the difference between a desired frequency and a current frequency of the oscillator signal. In other cases, iterations may employ variable sampling times with error handling, in order to decrease the duration of the calibration operation while maintaining a target accuracy.

  • Patent number: 11139803
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing low-power flip-flops with balanced clock-to-Q delay are described. A flip-flop includes a primary latch, an upper secondary latch, and a lower secondary latch. The primary latch transmits a data value from an input port to a first node when transparent. The upper secondary latch pulls up a second node when transparent and when the first node is equal to a first value. The second node is a prebuffered data output of the flip-flop. The lower secondary latch pulls down the second node when transparent and when the first node is equal to a second value different from the first value. To ensure the flip-flop has a balanced clock-to-Q delay, a first set of clock signals coupled to transistor gates of the primary latch are delayed with respect to a second set of clock signals coupled to transistor gates of the upper secondary latch.

  • Patent number: 11137648
Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with a display having a thin-film transistor layer. One or more holes in the thin-film transistor layer may be used to form pathways from display circuitry to other circuitry underneath the display. One or more conductive bridges may pass through holes in the thin-film transistor layer and may have one end that couples to the display circuitry and a second end that couples to a printed circuit underneath the display. These conductive bridges may be formed from wire bonding. Wire bond connections may be encapsulated with potting material to improve the reliability of the wire bond and increase the resiliency of the display. Display signal lines may be routed through holes in a thin-film transistor layer to run along a backside of the display thereby reducing the need for space in the border region for display circuitry.
