  • Patent number: 10659200
Abstract: The described embodiments augment an activity performed in a first application at a source electronic device using a controller at a companion electronic device. The source electronic device receives controller information describing a controller that the activity performed in the first application accepts controller data from, determines a controller identifier for the controller information, and broadcasts a controller advertisement comprising the controller identifier. Upon receiving the controller advertisement, the companion electronic device determines whether a second application that can provide the controller data is available at the companion electronic device. If the second application is available, the companion electronic device establishes a cooperative-activity communication channel with the source electronic device. The companion electronic device uses the cooperative-activity communication channel to provide controller data to the source electronic device.

  • Patent number: 10657961
Abstract: An electronic device with one or more processors and memory includes a procedure for sharing information with a third party recipient. In some embodiments, the device receives a speech input from a first user, the speech input specifying a second user different from the first user, and an information item to be shared with the second user. In response to the speech input, the device initiates a background process during which a digital assistant searches for the information item and causes the information item to be sent to the second user without further review and instruction from the first user.

  • Patent number: 10660156
Abstract: An apparatus of a RAN node in which flexible feedback for user data transferred between RAN nodes is described. The DL PDCP PDUs to be delivered to a UE is transmitted over an Xn or X2 interface between RAN and NG-RAN nodes, respectively. Feedback received allows transmitting RAN node to control downlink user data flow. The feedback contains a DDDS frame that includes a highest transmitted and delivered PDCP SN indicator parameter that respectively indicates whether a highest transmitted and successfully delivered PDCP PDU is present in the DDDS message and a highest transmitted and successfully delivered PDCP SN PDU parameter that provides feedback respectively about a transmitted status of the PDU sequence and an in-sequence delivery status of the PDUs to the UE. Buffered PDUs reported by the DDDS message are removed from memory as transmitted or successfully delivered PDUs.

  • Patent number: 10657238
Abstract: This is generally directed to identifying unauthorized users of an electronic device. In some embodiments, an unauthorized user of the electronic device can be detected by identifying particular activities that may indicate suspicious behavior. In some embodiments, an unauthorized user can be detected by comparing the identity of the current user to the identity of the owner of the electronic device. When an unauthorized user is detected, various safety measures can be taken. For example, information related to the identity of the unauthorized user, the unauthorized user's operation of the electronic device, or the current location of the electronic device can be gathered. As another example, functions of the electronic device can be restricted. In some embodiments, the owner of the electronic device can be notified of the unauthorized user by sending an alert notification through any suitable medium, such as, for example, a voice mail, e-mail, or text message.

  • Patent number: 10657966
Abstract: Systems and processes for operating a virtual assistant programmed to refer to shared domain concepts using concept nodes are provided. An example process includes receiving a user speech input, determining a primary domain corresponding to a textual representation of the user speech input, identifying, from the textual representation, a first substring that corresponds to a first concept of the primary domain, parsing the first substring to determine a secondary domain of the plurality of domains, and based on the secondary domain, obtaining a data item corresponding to the first substring. In accordance with determining that the data item is valid for resolving the first concept of the primary domain, extracting, from the data item, a parameter value for the first concept of the primary domain and invoking a service based on the primary domain to produce a result using the parameter value for the first concept.

  • Patent number: 10658441
Abstract: A display may have an array of pixels formed from organic light-emitting diodes and thin-film transistor circuitry. Each pixel may include organic layers interposed between an anode and a cathode. The organic layers may emit out-coupled light that escapes the display and waveguided light that is waveguided within the organic layers. A reflector may be placed at the edge of the organic layers to reflect the waveguided light out of the display. The reflector may be located within a pixel definition layer and may be formed from metal or may be formed from one or more interfaces between high-refractive-index material and low-refractive-index material. The reflector may be formed from an extended portion of the pixel anode. The reflector may be formed from light-reflecting particles that are suspended in the pixel definition layer.
