Publication number: 20210281726Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for selecting a lens control mode for a camera in external magnetic fields or other types of non-magnetic interference. In embodiments, when the camera is activated, a test of a position sensor for the camera lens is performed by moving the camera lens through a range of positions and collecting values from the sensor. In embodiments, the sensor readings are analyzed to determine conditions such as (a) whether the sensor is saturated by an external magnetic field or non-magnetic interference, (b) whether the sensor's readings are within an error margin, and (c) whether a computed position offset for the sensor is valid. Based on the analysis, the camera is placed into a first control mode where movement of the lens is controlled using the position sensor, or a second control mode where lens movement is controlled without the position sensor.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2021Publication date: September 9, 2021Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Abhishek Dhanda, Andrew D. Publication number: 20210279024Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile device can generate graphical user interfaces (GUIs) on behalf of third-party applications for presentation by vehicle infotainment systems. The mobile device can obtain configuration information for the vehicle system. The mobile device (e.g., operating system) can be configured with various GUI templates that define the layout of various user input controls. The third-party application can provide a template identifier and map data to the operating system. The mobile device can generate a GUI for the third-party application specifically for display by the vehicle system based on the identified template, the map data, and the configuration information for the vehicle system. The mobile device can then send the generated GUI to the vehicle system and the vehicle system can present the GUI on a display of the vehicle system.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2021Publication date: September 9, 2021Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Andre M. Patent number: 11113801Abstract: Devices, methods, and computer-readable media describing an adaptive approach to reference image selection are disclosed herein, e.g., to generate fused images with reduced motion distortion. More particularly, an incoming image stream may be obtained from an image capture device, which image stream may comprise a variety of different image captures, e.g., including “image frame pairs” (IFPs) that are captured consecutively, wherein the images in a given IFP are captured with differing exposure settings. When a capture request is received at the image capture device, the image capture device may select two or more images from the incoming image stream for fusion, e.g., including at least one IFP. In some embodiments, one of the images from the at least one IFP will be designated as the reference image for a fusion operation, e.g., based on a robust motion detection analysis process performed on the images of the at least one IFP.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2019Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventor: Wu Cheng
